Justin Roiland fired from Rick and Morty

Recommended Posts

That show is done I suppose.  They are saying the cartoon will continue, but how?  He voices all the characters and writes the stuff.  accused of domestic abuse.

A little more than a week after Justin Roiland, the co-creator, executive producer and star of Rick and Morty, appeared at a pre-trial hearing to face domestic violence charges, Adult Swim says it's no longer working with him.

"Adult Swim has ended its association with Justin Roiland," a rep for the network tells Yahoo Entertainment.

She added that the animated hit would continue, and the show's official Twitter account said the same.

the characters do have a liberal bent, but the entire family is also in therapy and seeing a shrink as they are crazy so it checks out.

After season 3 it has been going downhill quickly, I have not even watched all of this last season.

Not only do I know nothing about the case I will purposeful avoid learning details, i do not care. However I do not like the guilty until proven innocent though, shouldn't Cartoon network wait until after the trial before firing him?

I'm an innocent until proven guilty kind of guy, but if there was enough evidence from the jump to let him go, I'd have to assume its pretty bad. OR... the woke entertainment industry doing what it does.

It's for people that think their smart but aren't really that smart. Kinda like Big Bang Theory.

I would never due to Louis CK’s involvement.

I just began watching season 6.  I enjoyed seasons 1-4, although I guess i've heard multiple people say season 4 was bad but it has my favorite episode (vat of acid) so maybe I give it a pass.

Season 5 was garbage

I've been pleasantly surprised by season 6

most tv shows only have enough material for 4 years.  after that, theyve run through most / all of the storylines and the characters are fleshed out.  you can refresh it by adding characters.  for example frasier joined the main cast of cheers in season 5 and became more of a focal point.  potter, hunnicutt and winchester came in later on MASH and freshened it up.

Not sure I’d compare rick and morty to classic sitcoms. Cartoons can run a long time. R and M don’t really flesh out characters anyway. A little but always vague enough to introduce new wrinkles.

This is getting old with people losing their jobs and income just being accused even though the law is innocent until proven guilty.

Not even put on temporary leave? What recourse does he have if not found guilty? None.

I hope he is a liberal.

There was a meteorologist in my city working on one of the local stations for many many years.  He was fired for using some kind of sex clinic or escort service.  Turns out some other guy was just using his name because it was a name he knew from TV and wrote it down each time he signed in at the place instead of using his own name.  Eventually the meteorologist got a job again at a competing news station, but damn his life was destroyed for a while there and did nothing wrong.

companies can let an employee go for any (non discriminatory) reason. Just the way it is. If he feels he has a case for discrimination, i'm sure there will be a lawsuit.
