bostonlager 2,416 Posted February 2, 2023 You get 1000 tries to hole out a 60 yard shot on a relatively flat green with not much break. If you convert once, you get $5 million tax free. If you fail to convert, you're never allowed to play golf again. Do you take the challenge?
Fireballer 2,352 Posted February 2, 2023 I’d give it a go
Pimpadeaux 2,204 Posted February 2, 2023 I'd try. I don't love golf enough not to.
BufordT 370 Posted February 2, 2023 I'd take my chances The odds of converting have to better than 50/50.
Dizkneelande 839 Posted February 2, 2023 Hell yeah I’m dropping my 60 wedge all day long.
DonS 3,050 Posted February 2, 2023 I'd give it a shot if I can get "advice" from my caddy: She could help me with my massive driver! (who am I kidding, maybe my pitching wedge ) Edit: re-read the challenge. The point remains though.

I've been playing golf since I was 8 years old and have never had a hole in one. I am currently playing to a 9 handicap. Yet I know 25+ handicap golfers with more than 1 hole in one. The closer you get to the green, the less luck is involved in hole outs... true I think I would actually prefer a green with undulation where I could take 20 shots to determine where I want to land to take the slope and funnel it in. 1,000 is a lot of tries though. posty 2,285 Posted February 2, 2023 Sure, but it has already been about 25 years since I last played, so it wouldn't be an issue...

If you prefer a little slope, we can do Hole 16 - Augusta with a Sunday pin placement from 60 yards.
jerryskids 5,062 Posted February 3, 2023 I'd do it. About 15 years ago I hit 40-50 balls at a hole in one challenge, but it was more like 130 yards. After a few swings you start to groove into the distance and balls get close. From 60 yards, 1000 balls... I'd take the odds and try it.

Reality 2,697 Posted February 3, 2023 I'd take the challenge. 60 yards isn't a great number for me but, since it'll never happen... I'd like to think I can hit 1 in a 1000 tries.
