Was her name Gigi ?

Gigi was a brunette, with more ginormous tatas.  Also attractive, although I wouldn't say drop dead gorgeous. :nono:

None. I worked too much industrial jobs and shot too many guns as a teenager without hearing protection.

I am glad i did not go to many concerts and i hope my hearing does not decline as i get older.

A lot of the early concerts I attended were too damned loud. The worst was The Ramones. I didn't know what "ear-splitting" meant until that show.

Wow! I'd like to know more about the Zeppelin show you saw.

You couldn't have picked a better story to ask for.

So, Zeppelin was playing at the Capital Center in Landover, MD in the early '70s.  This was before I had discretionary money and had not purchased tickets.  There was a girl living near us and she called up and said she had some LSD and we should do it that night.  She came over, we took it and as we were getting off like skyrockets, we decided to drive over to Cap Centre and see Zeppelin.  Forgot that I had maybe $7 and surely not enough to buy scalped tickets.  Anyway, we got there and there were Cops on Horses announcing that if you didn't have tickets, you had to vacate the premises.  We didn't do either and at one point a Cop on his Horse came by me and leaned over and got me in a headlock and traveled about 20-30 feet with me straggling along.  When he let go, I turned around and my girl had run along behind and we were both laughing our asses off.  A plain clothes Cop came over and asked me did I have tickets and I said I did but I lost them when the Cop on Horse dragged me.  The plain clothes Cop took us into the line entering the building and handed us 2 tickets (no charge).  Maybe he thought there was a lawsuit because of that Cop.

When my girl and I got in and found our seats, we sat down beside a couple and I announced that we were tripping our asses off and they said, 'we are, too !

So, concert = it was fantastic !  Zeppelin played Stairway To Heaven about the 3rd song in and didn't wait for the encore.  I'm pretty sure it was a great show but truthfully, any show would have been great that night.

Okay, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I can only find Landover stops for 1975 and 1977.

The 1977 show there was one of the best of the tour. A lot of shows on that tour blew goats. I think paulinst saw one of those.

I’ve seen Jimmy Buffett a few times recently. I wish I had started years ago.  Seger too.  But he’s done touring.

Concerts I attended which did not come off I regret.  Clapton cancelled a show because he came down ill.  The Dead got rained out at Summerfest one year but Jerry did come out and see a bunch of us under a series of tarps and play accoustic for us for two songs since we had waited in line for hours before the show was cancelled. (I was tripping balls and ran into two girls from a philosophy class we had together who I had no idea would be there.  I got a ride back to Madison with them and then got lucky, but with the second choice only. the songs were Catfish John and It Must Have Been the Roses) Peter, Paul & Mary with Pete Seeger got cancelled at the Minnesota state fair due to a malfunctioning sound system.  Regardless they each did a song without amplification to a granstand of 10,000 folks.  Both Mary and Pete were able to project enough to be heard by the entire crowd but they each only did so once.  God knows how old Pete was ar the time so I found his effort truly amazing. This must have been 1985 or 86. I no longer recall the songs each did though I seem to recall they were crowd favorites.

Saw Bob Seger at the Bahstahn Gahden in the late 80s, one of my favorite concerts.  No opening act, just him and the band for like 3 hours, and every song was "oh yeah, I forgot he did this one too."

Back to regrets, I regret passing on Tool when they were here about a year ago, especially because I knew a guy with some connections.  Loud places are tough for me because I can't yell; sometimes restaurants are too loud.  So basically I don't seek out loud places.  I've gotten better about being comfortable being the mute guy with my wife since then, but she'd rather stick needles in her ears than go to a Tool concert :D , so that means I'd have to have gone with others.

All of these were in Houston:

1.) Bruce Springsteen on "The River" tour. I was offered a ticket but turned it down because I wasn't into his music. Big mistake.

2.) Talking Heads at a small venue called Rockers in Houston in 1982 on the "Remain in Light" tour. Again, offered a ticket but didn't go.

3.) The Clash at the Sam Houston Coliseum. Sometime around 1982.

Rusty says he’s been listening to Springsteen for over 50 years. But he wasn’t into his music in 1980.  Lol.

I mentioned it in other threads, but I saw Tool about a month ago, so that bucket list item is done.  Also since this thread, I've seen Billy Joel (with Stevie Nicks), who was next on my bucket list.

So I need a new bucket list.  :)

LOL, HT had to dredge up a thread that hasn't had a post in it in 13 months because he's so focking butthurt over me destroying him today.

See, this is him making up information.

Nope, I wasn't into Springsteen in the 1970s and 1980s.

Prove that I said i was.

I open-mindedly gave his albums a listen and didn't care much for him, but I might have if I'd gone to that show on "The River" tour. He was unavoidable to listen to on rock radio, because he was all over it. But I kept repeatedly hearing he was great in concert.

It wasn't until around 2006 or 2007 that I saw one of his shows, and it was great. What I'd always heard is true: Once you see him live, you get it. I gave his albums another try, and so many of them are just great. I regret not seeing him on "The River" tour.

I've seen him five times now, including on Broadway, and we'll go see him again when he comes around.

Amusing your butthurt over me taking you up on your challenge to prove you said in November 2021 that Juneteenth had yet to occur that year, in addition to all your other baloney-ass statements you've made.

Keep trying, chim chim.

Oooooga oooooga!

🤣

Psssttt, Juneteenth  ... is in JUNE!

When I was sick in 2017 with Diverticulitis, we had a boatload of concert tickets.  We literally had to make a spreadsheet of all the shows we went to that year to not forget any.  Off the top of my head, during the couple of months I was basically dead, we missed:

- Sammy Hagar

- Guns 'N Roses

- Christine McVie/Lindsey Buckingham touring without Fleetwood Mac.  I ddin't go but made the GF go with a friend of mine since Fleetwood Mac is her favorite band.

- Joan Jett

- Queen w/Adam Lambert

- Blondie

Of those, I've never seen Queen, Blondie, or G'N'R.  Of those, probably have to go with G'N'R. Always really wanted to see them and still haven't.   Really wanted to see Blondie too so that would be 2nd.
