The line forms behind Nuno Bettencourt

Nuno might be 5th on my list.  80s guitarists - He is late 80s though.

Ones that haven't been mentioned yet off the top of my head...

JOHN PETRUCCI :headbanger: (pretty much the all time master of the guitar technically) Not as much "feeling" as some of the others, but still.

Warren DeMartini (RATT)
Jake E Lee
Yngwie Malmsteen
Kirk Hammet
Dave Murry and Adrian Smith
Glen Tipton and KK Downing

You know whitch one that hasn't been mentioned yet that SCREAMS 80's metal to me?

Vivian fukkin Campbell

Randy Rhodes died 1982. He’s in my top 5 with EVH (Nuno 1#) Slash (late 80s) & Dimebag.

if he didn't die, he wouldn't have been seen as so good.

I doubt that. Would of had a bigger body of work been bigger star and icon. Of course my opinion vs your opinion.

FTR - Never a SRV fan but without Randy I don't play the guitar the way I did and probably get swept away in Andy Gibb or the Bee Gees ...

I liked him better as a shredder before he joined RHCP

He wrote some of your favorite songs in history.

A lot of people around Randy thought he would have moved on to different types of musically endeavors beyond heavy metal and shredding, no way to know but that's what I've read.

I have read the same ... Jazz/Fusion or something like that.  Who wouldn't with the Jazz/Fusion babes ...

I also read a blurb ... maybe from Ozzy ... about the stuff Randy was working on leading up to the 3rd 'Blizzard' album and how it was sort of trendsetting ... A royal bummer he left early

10 million records sales between Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman would say otherwise.
