Nice try but that couldn't be farther from the truth. Cancer is by far and away the #1 killer to children followed by car accidents.

Wrong! Cancer is No. 5. Car accidents are No. 2.

Gun deaths are No. 1.

Did you even click on the link?

define an assault weapon

An 18-year-old shouldn't be able to walk into a gun store and buy an AR-15.

Period.

How many other constitutional rights you willing to give up?

Your side of the aisle is already willing to give up the first two for everyone except you. Anymore?

You can’t count gun violence between bloods and crips with 15 thru 18 years olds.  It severely skews the data and point you’re making.

I’m actually for strict(er) gun laws.  At least we should actually enforce the current laws.

ETA:  Did you just say NPR is right leaning?  Jesus.

I hear this a lot from pro NRA types. So I’d like to know: what laws are we not currently enforcing?

It’s a serious question, not at all meant to be a “gotcha”.

It’s a terrible thing.

But we live in a society with millions of privately owned firearms. That’s not going to go away. And while I’m generally for stricter gun laws, I’m not confident that any of them will make this situation any better.

Interesting, one might think that it was drag queens and trans folks rather than guns, judging from posts I've seen in this forum.

Lying on a firearm background check, losing your gun in public, possessing a firearm while using controlled substances should all be starters.

What should the age limit be?  They can drive at 14 with a school permit. They can handle just about any artillery in the military.

It seems to me that the first one would be quickly solved if we had a national database. But those politicians tied to the NRA always oppose this.

How would the first be solved with a national database?

The problem is that we find out people do those things listed and aren't being punished for them. Enforce laws on the books. Then lets talk about how those didn't work.

Well, almost all of them are being killed by criminals with illegally obtained pistols. If every ar-15 were to vanish from the face of the earth it would barely reduce the number of children or anyone killed in the US for that matter.  If you want to solve a problem a good place to start is where the problem overwhelmingly exists. But liberals don’t really care, or they would insist on people that carry and use illegal guns were given significant prison time. But they don’t, and neither does George Soros or his puppets.

Fauci was not a king. He was director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases from 1984 to 2022, which means he served under four Republican presidents, including Trump.

HTH.

I mean its just the truth.  The study groups in 18 and 19 year olds as "Children".  I'm guessing that was the bump they needed to get the headline.

I didn't bring up Fauci, much less hold him up as my hero. You brought him up. I simply pointed out that he has never held the title of king, unless you consider the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases as some kind position of royalty.

None of this takes away from the fact that guns kill more kids than anything else, and we're the only nation on Earth that gun deaths represent the No. 1 cause of kid deaths.

Facts!
