Ruin-y Rule in the NFL

Recommended Posts

Defensive Coordinator of the Bears Alan Williams resigned out of nowhere. Even the head coach was shocked. Williams clain personal/health issues. Multiple reports said the FBI raided his home but his attorney denies it. So who knows?

WTF, in a business that pays so many black people millions on a monthly basis, do they need a policy to reward teams who hire black people as coaches and upper management?

Great that skin color is more important than strength of character or simply being capable of doing the job.

The Chicago Bears have bumbled their way to an 0-2 start, saw their alleged franchise quarterback cite "Coaching" as to why he appears to be playing robotic and, now, have also lost their defensive coordinator -- reportedly amidst FBI raid of coach's home.

I’m not a fan of the Rooney rule.  Teams should be allowed to hire who they feel is best for their team, black/white.

I am surprised by this story about this coach, any reports why the FBI would raid his house?

Teams ARE allowed to hire who they want, Rooney rule doesn't stop them.

Also this story is about a coach voluntarily resigning, not his interview process.

Another Peefoam fail - the unbroken streak continues. :(

I think it adds pressure to hire someone based on ones  skin color.  So I agree they can hire who they want, but I think sometimes they don’t do they can meet the rule requirements.  Anyway that’s my thoughts about this stupid rule.

Yeah, it's his fault the Bears suck.  🤣

Yeah, and that's not the point of the thread. But he did lead a defense to being rated 29th in the NFL. Which is a little bit important to a team's success. :dunno:

Don't talk about things you know nothing about. You've seemed to make a habit of that.

As a Packer fan I know good QB's and I know what team doesn't have one!

Bears hired Poles from KC. Let's just keep giving teams advantages based on the color of people's skin.

Bears are finalizing a deal to hire Chiefs' Assistant Director of Player Personnel Ryan Poles as their next general manager, per league sources. Under the NFL's new rules for developing minority coaching and front office candidates, the Chiefs will receive draft pick compensation for Poles' departure

Yeah you do. You witnessed one whole conference championship win over the past 18 years.

You must be an expert.

He clicked "like" on a post that said the 2020 election was rigged.

Um, because they are not hiring many black people as coaches and upper management, compared to the percentage of black players in the NFL.

Um, there are not as many blacks in the US. Do we need to.get American indians in on this rule?

You've got a good point. The NFL should be required to have more white players.

Yeah, I can't believe black coaches like Jon Gruden, Britt Reid, Gregg Williams, Chris Foerster, and Tom Cable ever got hired in the first place.

Which is completely irrelevant to this thread discussion. How many Native Americans play in the NFL?

No, but how many kickers or punters are black? Are there any right now?

So, if more blacks work in a store and there is an opening for some job, black people should be prioritized over other races?

And if you believe in equality, the same should be for mostly white businesses that whites should be prioritized over blacks?

And if American Indians apply for a job where only black people work, fock off right?

Let's prioritize blacks no matter what.

We NEED to have the management race reflect what the majority race is of the employees?

If you have a small company of only white employees, you should favor whites in management.

That seems wrong somehow.
