Any semi auto weapon can kill people as fast as one can pull the trigger. (assuming you have good aim) 1 pull = 1 round spent.
Not sure where you are going with this.

already pointed out that the rifle is more powerful and more accurate, with larger capacity, then a semi auto hand gun.

Where I'm going is that the industry keeps making weapons that are more deadly and it really needs to stop.

No.  It's still just a .22 rifle like this one.  https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/smith-wesson-mp-15-22-sport-rimfire-rifle

A 9mm is a completely different gun.  Please, do some research.

I have one of those, bought it a few years back. I've probably put over 10,000 rounds threw it and it's still going strong.

They're so much fun and ammo is dirt cheap, compared to 5.56 or 223. We call it a plinker, great for shooting squirrels to.

I was thinking it should remain about what’s happening. I know better though. It’s always the same bickering in every thread by the same people.

Yet some would call it an assault rifle that would rip apart bodies based on how it looks.

Exactly. It's literally a BB gun with powdered ammunition instead of BBs.

It’s always the people who know the least about guns that are the most vocal about gun laws.

They talk about "Assault Rifle" but can't tell you what an actual "Assault" rifle is.  It appears their only definition is "it looks scary".

They think "semi-automatic" = "full automatic".  Like the machine guns in the pillboxes on the beaches of Normandy during D-Day.

They think the criminals will give up their guns when new laws are enacted.

They think "defund the Police" means safer streets.  Send a psychologist or social worker instead!!!

Jesus, these people shouldn't be voting, much less giving us their opinions on guns.

Yeah, but its the same line of thinking of blaming Indiana for Chicago's murder rate. It's never made sense to me.

I’m not blaming Indiana. But if Indiana allows the purchase of a weapon without a background check and Illinois does not, then logically folks with a bad background who live in Illinois and want to buy a gun are going to drive to Indiana to do it. Same with California and Nevada. That’s why, for any gun restrictions to be effective they really have to be federal.

He was against you more than against me for the threads that you started, then nuked or changed the thread title so that no one could find it, like the Mitt Romney thread that became one about the Ickey Shuffle and Subway Sandwiches after you were completely humiliated.

Then this idea fails at the Federal level because of Mexico gun laws and the lack of border enforcement. Guns are still making into the country and only in the hands of the worst of the worst.

I can’t think of any other laws that liberals want to enforce but gun laws. That and inflating your income or some stupid shitt that no one complained about.

I don't care what it looks like, answer my question.  Is an AR15 any more powerful than a 22?  or a 9mm handgun?

6 hours ago, The Real timschochet said:

I’m not in favor of banning AR-15s. The evidence suggests the last ban worked but times have changed. There’s too many out there now. I’m only in favor of laws that are workable. If it’s not workable then I’m opposed no matter how good the idea is in principle.

But let’s not pretend that these guns are no more dangerous than a 22. That’s bunk.

It might interest you fellas to know that most AR-15's fire a .22 caliber round. You can get them chambered in a different round like 300 Blackout but the standard .223 chambered AR fires a .22 caliber projectile.

The difference between them and a starter .22 rifle is basically the difference between a 4 banger mustang and a 5.0

Same car, same caliber bullet, one just goes faster than the other.

They literally banned the word "pigeon" for Squis and then had to tell him to shut the F up when he started reporting people for using the nickname "Kappy" to talk about his butt buddy Colin Kaepernick.

Gun stores hold federal licenses. All gun stores. Any gun store in the country has to submit a form 4473, which is the form all gun purchasers are required to fill out, it includes the purchaser's identifying information, the gun model, caliber, serial number, etc.

There are also questions one must answer, under penalty of perjury, a felony, regarding their legal ability to purchase the firearm.

This info is submitted to NICS, which stands for National Instant (Back Ground) Check System.

If their name, birthdate and SSN doesn't return a "hit" saying they are disqualified from owning firearms, the transaction is allowed to take place.

Now, could that system be improved? Absolutely. There are plenty of mistakes made with false positives and/or negatives. But that is the system that the feds came up with.

Any FFL that fails to conduct a NICS check prior to selling a firearm can be fined and lose their Federal Firearms License. They take that sh!t very seriously.

So you're saying that an AR-15 is not more powerful or deadly than any other gun on the market?  It's just cosmetic?  Come on bro.  I'm not a gun guy, but I'm pretty sure this is inaccurate.

It is a relatively small caliber rifle.  So small, in fact, that some states restrict it for deer hunting as it is not considered an effective deer round.

I was glad to see that emoji go as it was not unusual to have 2-3 laughing emojis on seemingly every one of my serious posts in this forum, with the only intent being to ridicule me. I expect to see that again, but as before, there is nothing I will be able to do about it.
