Womans NBA vrs Boys High school Team

Recommended Posts

Depends which high school. Some high schools can smoke some D1 teams

I would say that a top ranked high school team would beat a WNBA Team 80+% of the time. Too fast, too big, too physical.

And that's probably a conservative assertion.

I bet the top 25% of highschool boys' teams could beat a wnba team.

15 years ago, I would have said 50%, but the women's game is getting better.

When I was a freshman in high school my English teacher was coach of the girls varsity team - one of the best teams in the state.  Our freshman boys team sucked, and she used to jab me all the time about it.  Finally one day I got a little too mouthy and challenged her to a game, and and she gladly accepted.  It became a huge deal.  She hyped it up as a fundraising event.  The gym was packed to capacity and community television broadcast it.

Long story short - they kicked our asss.  A large part of it was that we agreed to use the smaller women’s ball, and like the cocky teenagers we were - we didn’t even practice with it.  Hell, I don’t think we practiced at all.  Our season had been over for a few weeks and we just thought we could show up and our size and strength advantage would carry the day.  Wrong.  They played a 2-3 zone and forced us to shoot mid and long range jumpers.  And we were shooting BRICKS with that small ball.

It was a nightmare.  The crowd was against us, the refs were against us, and the girls played like it was the National Championship.  It was such a strange experience.  Back then you never played against girls, so it was extremely awkward having to body up against them.  It was humiliating and easily the most humbling sports experience of my life.

So, long story short, they had to rig the game in order to win?

I guarantee the WNBA team would smoke Clay Travis and a collection of 10 other talking head dorks on sports talk radio 😂

I do agree with him that WNBA is largely unwatchable. It has improved greatly from the small bits of women’s CBB I have watched in past couple years but still is pretty rough compared to watching NBA or MCBB.

You're completely missing the point if you think random dudes off the street was his point.  It's not and I think you know that but just wanted to make a false equivalency?

And I disagree - the WNBA is as unwatchable now as it was when it first started.  But, to be honest, that's for them and their fan to decide, I suppose.

Would be fun to watch sports talk dorks like him get worked over by a bunch of broads.

But we can criticize the men's leagues all day and you have no issue, amiright?

Give me a pickup game with Clay Travis, Skip Bayless, Steven A Smiff, Nick Wright, and whoever else against a WNBA team. I’d watch that too (as well as the HS thing floated).

No doubt. Did you notice that traveling is allowed? These girls take like 5 steps before they shoot. They may as well make dribbling optional.

And YES, a top ranked High School program or a McDonald's All-American team would SMOKE a WNBA team. It's ok to say it, these Women are just not that good at Basketball.

The McDonalds all Americans would win by 70 against any WNBA team.

Loved the woman's ball back in the day.  I could palm a regular ball, but barely.  The woman's ball I could palm with ease and it made dunking with gusto possible for me.
