Tennessee City Has Banned Being Gay In Public

Recommended Posts

I am not sure what criteria they use to determine what is being gay in public.

In any event, I doubt it is Constitutional.

Isn’t that the same town from Inherit the Wind? The Scopes trial? Some things never change.

The title doesn’t pass the smell test.  I’m going to go ahead and guess some ordinance about sucking cack in public was issued and the media made the headline like yours.

That should be punishable via public hanging at 10:00 am every Monday

Exactly.  They made a law against public nudity and lewdness.

Cool small town.  Middle Tennessee State University is located in the city.  Probably sick of EVs, show tunes, WNBA fans, pronouns, Will Smith movies, drag shows, hot dog and pizza parties….

If anyone wants to read the actual ordinance which pidge clearly didn’t before he had to run and post this -

As used in this article:

"Minor" means any person under the age of 17 years.

"Nudity" means the showing of the human male or female genitals, pubic area or buttocks with less than a full opaque covering, or the showing of the female breast with less than a full opaque covering of any portion thereof below the top of the nipple, or the depiction of covered male genitals in a discernibly turgid state.

"Sexual conduct" means acts of masturbation, homosexuality, sexual intercourse, or physical contact with a person's clothed or unclothed genitals, pubic area, buttocks or, if such person be a female, breast.

"Sexual excitement" means the condition of human male or female genitals when in a state of sexual stimulation or arousal.

"Sado-masochistic abuse" means flagellation or torture by or upon a person clad in undergarments, a mask or bizarre costume, or the condition of being fettered, bound or otherwise physically restrained on the part of one so clothed.

"Harmful to minors" means that quality of any description or representation, in whatever form, of nudity, sexual conduct, sexual excitement or sado-masochistic abuse, when it:

Thanks for clarifying.  An act of homosexuality constitutes sexual conduct.  That's ridiculous.

So what is an act of homosexuality?  Wearing a pride shirt?  Singing showtunes?  Two men holding hands?  Kissing?

What a clusterfuk. Seems like there's ample opportunity for interpretation here, depending on who is observing the "crime" and who is "committing" it.

  1. If a straight dude wearing tight pants walks around with a hard on because he just got fondled by his lady friend, he could be arrested.
  2. If a straight woman wears too revealing a tank top, same.
  3. If two lesbians are kissing-- off to the clink!
  4. Two gay men kissing and embracing-- the hoosgow for you!

I wonder which of those four are most likely to result in an arrest?

THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!!😩

I think #3 depends on level of hotness. If it’s a couple of 300 pound he/she’s with purple hair  they are on the first greyhound to California.

Despite having a lesbo daughter, I’m not pro-gay.  I’m also not anti-gay.  I’m pro-decency.  I’m very, very pro-don’t bother me with your sht.  I’m pro-everyone get the fck outta my face.

Now, how exactly does Murfreesboro plan to enforce a public decency statute that describes a CATEGORY OF PEOPLE as “sexual conduct”?

"Harmful to minors in accordance with the social morals of the community" is vague and could involve selective enforcement against LBGTQ folks, such as for displaying a rainbow flag (for those who believe that it could influence impressionable children into believing being gay, lesbian or trans is OK).

No, Straw Man, the OP doesn't admit or even suggest that.

So you agree that this doesn't single out the LGBTQ community, it applies to everyone?  So the OP is purposefully lying, yet your reaction isn't towards the leftist lying with the soul intent to falsely show that conservative hate gay people, it's about that the law is ambiguous?

Homosexuality by itself is considered "sexual conduct" so, that means, being gay or being identified as gay in public is illegal under this ordinance.

I'm going to assume you didn't read the bill... nor did George Fallswell or Brian Tyler Cohen.

Hey by the way it’s written I can’t get a BJ in public in Murfreesboro. Seems like all the bases are covered

No it doesn't.  Displaying of a pride flag is not sexual conduct.

Fallswell is quoting directly from the city code.
