I want open controlled immigration. If it’s out of control, I can live with that so long as the numbers aren’t too large, right now they are.

Does this mean that you want people to be able to immigrate here without any restrictions on qualifying, but you want them to wait their turn?

You're full of it.  You've been advocating for wide open borders as long as I've been interacting with you which has to be close to ten years.  GTFO of here with your controlled immigration crap.  You are only taking this stance because it's politically expedient to do so.

He's a troll. This whole thread is a troll, he's an a-hole. He loves this crap, he voted for open borders and he got it.

Yes and no.
I want what we had in the early 20th century except equal opportunity for all countries. If we have that then they can wait their turn- but right now there are certain countries where there is no turn. For example if you’re a poor person in Latin America, there is no line to get into, no turn for them.
It should be orderly and people with diseases or criminal records should be kept out. Those already here that came illegally should be allowed to stay if they pay a fine for their crime, but they should never be citizens and never allowed to vote. I also don’t mind securing the border so long as it doesn’t slow down legal trade. Finally we need to either do away with minimum wage or create a sub minimum wage for those who clean up, work agriculture, buss restaurants, etc. if we don’t do that we will always have an illegal problem.

I could go on in detail but those are my thoughts in a nutshell. Though I don’t mind calling myself a liberal I’m much more libertarian on this issue than leftist I believe.

Nope. I’ve always been for controlled, regulated open immigration ala Ellis Island. Always.

I’ve never voted for open borders because nobody has ever campaigned for open borders. I’ve never voted for open immigration because nobody has ever campaigned for that either (but I would.) In my first election ever I voted proudly for Ronald Reagan in part because he advocated for more open immigration and I’d do so again, eagerly.

Elect a clown and expect a circus.

You knew damn well that open borders was one of his biggest platforms. All he talked about was reversing Trump immigration policies.

And I’m glad he did. I don’t believe that reversing those policies had anything to do with increasing illegal immigration, and returning to those policies would do little to stop illegal immigration. The problem lies elsewhere.

You’re so full of sh!t. It’s not a game and has never been a game to me. I firmly believe that more open immigration is what’s best for this country. But we’re facing an emergency.

Why, name, one country in the history of the world that has been successful with open borders. There have been 1.6 million gotaways since Joe Biden took office, why is this good for our country.

I didn’t miscalculate it. I expressed my beliefs about what America should be about and I continue to hold those beliefs. But we’ve reached crisis mode so now we have to act in an emergency in ways that we didn’t have to act before.

It was ALWAYS going to be a crisis the way it was handled......but like every other liberal plan or decision, there was no long term vision. EVERYONE knew it was going to go bad but the lemmings ran towards the cliff anyways. THE WARNINGS WERE THERE ALL ALONG. When the hogs know that there's free corn in the field.....the entire herd comes running. It shouldn't have taken this long for you to see it, but I'm glad you now do. I hope it opens your eyes to other policy initiated tidal waves like crime & homeless people in liberal cities. That's the next crisis. I'm not against helping people or giving people a chance at a better life.......you just can't turn the spigot on wide open & walk away.

Please understand that open immigration is not the same as open borders. What countries in the history of the world have benefited from open immigration? Israel. Australia. The Kingdom of Hawaii. And most of all, the USA.

Where exactly? And what is The Old Man doing to fix it? He's had how many years to do so?

Biden has done little to fix our problems on this issue. We’ll see what he does now.

I can’t ever support Trump’s “solutions”; I regard them as inhumane.

To your first question: the problems lie not principally with our policies, but with the conditions in the countries these people are fleeing from.

Biden didn’t campaign for open borders. “We need a constant, unrelenting stream of immigration”. His exact  words.  You’re a clown.

What the hell has he been waiting for??? You think this just happened yesterday? He's a useless piece of garbage. He doesn't even know where he is half the time. You expect him to snap his fingers and fix what he created?

Again, you voted for it.

Nobody is against that type of immigration but that is not what we have today. Comparing our borders to Ellis Island shows your complete lack of knowledge on the subject. Ellis Island is not an example of open immigration. It’s not even close.

Sure.  Show me the video where his exact words are  “We need a constant, unrelenting stream of immigration”.

 Hur-durrr he didn't say those words exactly like it's written out so he didn't say it.

The perfect democrat voter right here. HEre' is what he said, “It started all the way back in the late 1700s. There’s been a constant, unrelenting stream of immigration. Not in little trickles, but in large numbers.”

I wish he had said it we need it. I would like him better. It’s generally a true statement and pretty close to what Ronald Reagan used to say.

They, the dems, got exactly what they wanted in all of this, more illegals and future generations of voters. They knew at some point they were going to turn off the spigots. Now it’s election time and they are now coming to the rescue to save all of us.
