I don’t know what you people do…in my state you are registered to vote you get mailed a ballot a few weeks out. You get a voter packet. You look over all the stuff. You fill it out. You sign it and date it. You tear off a barcode. You track to see it has been recorded. You want to stand around in the rain and vote day of be my guest but fock that. What started this side convo was a poster saying (paraphrasing) other mechanisms than voting in person is a bad process. The option to have mail-in voting is infinitely better than having only in person. If you want to go vote at some church on Tuesday be my guest, but mail-in is much better for a variety of reasons. Heard a former high ranking election official interviewed on the radio yesterday. Apparently they compare voter rolls to all sorts of other databases to keep the voter database up to date. Haven't heard of any integrity issues in my time here. I moved back in 2006 so been here quite a while now. Based upon my experience here I'm not opposed to mail in voting but the way states that hadn't done it previously did it in 2020 was just a recipe for fraud.
