weepaws 3,141 Posted June 13, 2024 I know how sensitive everyone is, my only post on this thread, I’m not even going to look at the outcome. Thanks.
Ray_T 738 Posted June 13, 2024 nice job guys. I see puka is listed ahead of the depth chart of Kupp. though at the age of 30, Kupp could still be the lead dog here. based on that I'm a bit surprised Puka went this early but I guess if you believe in someone you believe in them. unless there is news suggesting Kupp wont be the guy. I'm not aware of any but admittedly havent been paying THAT much attention during the offseason either way, it will be interesting to see how this one plays out. Showboat 252 Posted June 14, 2024 I actually like Fumbleweed's squad - needs some RB depth to finish out, but if Henry has another year left, that team is golden.

I knew he won the July mock a couple years back and all the teams ive seen him draft looked pretty solid to me. either way, I could go on about things I like and dislike about his style but the results speak for themselves. BufordT 424 Posted June 15, 2024 Apparently I'm the only one in FF land that is on the Tyjae Spears train. Tony Pollard went a full round ahead of Tyjae. Matt (is this formerly matt meuller?), I thought did very well with 1st six picks then went into auto draft mode. Matt also seems to like WR's that just got paid. My amateur opinion is Hawkeye wins this draft. Tank Dell is going to prove to be a big time steal at 6:

Spears finished 34th last year in spite of 70 tar for 52 rec. It was lack of Td's (4 total) and yardage that held him back. Pollard is no Travis Henry, but he's going to eat a chunk of the ground work. But the biggest problem holding the entire offense back ... Will Levis was awful last year. Spears showed some explosiveness last year and I'd prefer him over Pollard too. It just seems like a lot of unknowns... how much goal line work and receptions Pollard gets, and how much (if any) Will Levis improves.

Just one observation, last year in most weeks "rest of the way" rankings Spears was usually ranked in the low to mid 30's. Now that he figures to get more touches with Henry out and Pollard in, his pre season ranking is the about same. Also, you're right, Pollard is no Travis Henry, not even close.
Ray_T 738 Posted June 15, 2024 I"m not fully sure what to make of this yet. I think Spears definitely gets used more in the pass game. and he likely gets a few more runs so It wouldnt surprise me if he outperforms the current projection. Not sure if hes good enough to unseat Pollard but Pollard doesnt look to have the durability of Henry so this could be a legit 2 person timeshare. possibly with a 50-50 split. ICEMAN pretty solid team overall. you did what I did in the July Mock last year and didnt get a great TE. but I like the rest of your team. I feel you got pretty good value on the WR you took beyond round 5. I'd give this an A minus. you likely finish in the top half of the league. Quite probably top 3 or 4 but I think you come just short of winning (which is a pretty good result) in a format thats not best ball, this roster would likely be better as you could trade away some of your excess talent at some positions in mid season to improve yourself at TE and put yourself over the top. either way, still lots to like. well done

Showboat 252 Posted June 19, 2024 Most teams look pretty good on paper post-draft and cases can be made that they won the draft. It means nothing as the ultimate league winners will be determined not by projections, but by who under-performs, over-performs, falls of the cliff, gets injured, etc.

WhiteWonder 2,666 Posted June 20, 2024 Just a few points on the whole Pollard / Spears thing since I did in fact draft Pollard as an RB3. While he was not the Pollard we saw splitting time with Zeke in Dallas, he was a volume dependent back capable of startable weeks. He still had 1300 total yards and a 4.0 ypc, the 6 TD's were just not what we wanted from a guy who finally took over. Also this is standard scoring, so I'm not inclined to care too much about Spears targets and receptions. Finally, The Titans paid Pollard... pretty early in the process and I believe he is somewhere around the 10th highest paid RB in the league right now. For at least one season, I see that investment buying him the lead role, unless he really stumbles.
remote controller 143 Posted June 20, 2024 I think this was easily our tightest Draft yet. Usually there are a few stinkers and a dominate team or two.

I liked the pick. in standard leagues I think if hes your RB3 you've done exceptionally well. hes likely the best or second best RB3 taken in the draft. I'd take that all day long. RB3 is underrated in importance because RB's always get injured. this just ensures that you have the bases covered if this happens. good pick
