Pheagle 4 Posted June 20, 2024 Haven’t really looked into it yet but with the changes to the kickoff…might be worth looking at players who are both WR/Rb and will be handling kickoffs…especially in those leagues where pts are awarded for kickoff yards…most leagues already credit the TD to team defenses. Not a season changer but certainly an extra TD or three during the season would certainly help…especially if that player already has WR2/3 or Flex appeal. Early, but according to Rotowire…here’s a few Khalil Shakir - Bills (Potential WR1) Kyren Williams - Rams (starting RB handling KR? Maybe) Ty Chandler - Vikings (Listed RB2) Rashid Shaheed - Saints (WR2) Rachaad White - Bucs (See Kyren above, but I don’t think he stays in this role) Tyjae Spears - Titans (RB2) Thoughts? GobbleDog 985 Posted June 20, 2024 Where's Devin Hester when ya need him? It'll be interesting to see how the rule change plays out. There were only 4 kick-off returns last year and 6 in '22. That rule change in 2011 really killed all the fun.
Showboat 252 Posted June 21, 2024 If it becomes clear that forcing a return results in better average field position, I think teams will quickly concede the touchback to the 30 yard line. Teams that master kick-off coverage won't be giving up big returns. Either way, I don't think there will be any consistent FF benefit for potential returners.
polecatt 474 Posted June 22, 2024 It's something to consider I guess. If you have two players deadlocked, perhaps one returning kicks is a tie breaker. A TD or two is enough to make you consider it. When it's a major rule change like this, where we're kind of in uncharted territory with how it's gonna play out, the chances that a player or team or trend starts and there's a short term run on TDs on kick offs goes up. cmh6476 1,014 Posted June 26, 2024 God bless having a safety whose able to handle kickoffs; better tackler and in pursuit than a kicker plus you don't risk the chance of hurting your kicker by having to make a tackle #cheatcode
