Just Ignore the Media Experts: They Have No Clue

Recommended Posts

Yesterday MSM had an article anointing Xavier Worthy as KC next Tyreek. His immediate chemistry with Mahomes was obvious. Today?

Yeah hold that thought. Apparently his propensity for dropping passes in college graduated to the pros. Suddenly his not to worry about groin pulls are a concern along with his alligator arms.

in literally 24 hours he went from sleeper to asleep. Now they recommend not drafting him.

The point? The point is the regular contributors on this site do hours of reading and research that their thoughts and projections are more helpful than the nerds, Dei hires, and  frauds the media presents.

ESPN daily NFL live show is the perfect example. It’s awful. The Mina chick blows, along with the rest of the cast. I get more insight from you guys.

Thx for your input

Youtube fantasy experts - too many "I just sorta feel..." takes. Short on data points backing it up. Talk metrics or team situations, personnel, coaching schemes, pertinent historical data, etc. Compelling reasons why I should or shouldn't draft a player. Their gut feelings don't hold water.

But they get clicks, which is what they want and I'm a sucker for fantasy football opinions so I click - usually leave unimpressed.

Easy stuff, a rookie wr that can’t catch, not a player worthy of a roster spot on a redraft ff team.

The only differences between 95% of the FF “experts” and guys who simply take FF seriously are time and a platform.

Sure, there are guys like Adam Schefter who like to get into fantasy and are legitimately in the know, but most of the Adam Ranks of the world are only considered experts because it’s their job, they are provided with a platform, and their working hours are dedicated to it.

There are dozens of guys who frequent FFT who you could pluck and drop on the set of NFL Fantasy Live and would provide far superior insight

Yep.  In one of my $ leagues we have a guy who I believe in rounds 9-12 last year took Achane, Puka & McBride when there was very little buzz about any of them (at least at their ADP’s) from the “experts”, then drafted Goff as his starting QB in the last round.

Guy does stuff like this every year…his team name is The Time Machine.  Should have his own show.

remember the big media outlets write their articles to get clicks.   they accuracy and research are secondary)   they also need to have new content often so they can keep making money from the clicks.

Worthy is more of a Dynasty play IMO. I still love him but yup, the early chemistry is not looking good.

Also remember these “experts” who write these articles are also playing FF.  Some are probably betting a lot of their money on year long as well as daily.  That’s always made me skeptical about their advice…

I haven’t seen another ADP that has Kupp ranked that high, expect for my own rankings.

I'm more likely to listen to a fantasy podcast then clicking through the web. Its more so for background noise than for knowledge.   At times it's good to hear different takes on players.  I do not really keep up with the college game so I do like listening to their takes on lesser known rookies. Then I do my homework and make my own decisions.  Just like here there are some posters that I value their knowledge and their are others not so much.

I also like to hear other peoples takes on a player.   even if I dont agree with it, its good to know where some people are at with a player even if its to get an idea as to what value the average person places on that player.

I also think the debate is good. sometimes info on a player will come out in a debate that will change my mind on that player too.

to that end I do enjoy the debates.  if it seems like I am argumentitive I'm not trying to be.   just enjoying the debate

Use to listen back in the late 90es, Into th3 early 2000, but I just found myself buying into it, then I would change my rankings, and say never again.

I have listen to the so called experts for many many moons,  only expert I find worthy to listen to is the poster on here, and the Football Guru.

Thanks everyone.
