Zero chance. Ryan Tannahill has likely been called already.  I am betting it is a grade 3 based on how much pain he was in. 6 weeks plus to recover from. If they turn to their current backups they will likely lose every game.

I had to deal with the loss of Anthony Richardson last year, my keeper for this year; hope/need him to stay healthy, as I lost Love in a start 2 QB league.

My backups are Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, and Derek Carr so should be able to survive a few weeks until Love is back at the QB position at least. 

Hate to see him get hurt and right at the end of the game.

I was so excited to get JLove as my QB. Snagged Caleb Williams as the backup who would never be active unless the matchup was just right.

Now, I will get to enjoy the excitement of Caleb for a while.

The Packers have contacted Tannehill in the wake of Jordan Love suffering an MCL sprain during Friday's loss to the Eagles in Brazil, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Since hitting free agency back in March, Tannehill has been waiting on the right opportunity, which includes a contender with a strong offensive line and a bevy of skill-position talent. Green Bay represents such a situation, and with Love set to miss 3-to-6 weeks due to his Week 1 injury, Tannehill has his first chance to join a team for the 2024 season. If the Packers and Tannehill find common ground on a contract, he'd get the chance to work with RB Josh Jacobs, WRs Jayden Reed, Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs and TEs Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave for at least a handful of games once he picks up the playbook.

Packers are foolish.  They won last week and playing a very beatable team in Tennessee this week.  Why rush your supposed franchise QB to come back to play a game that you should win, and risk further injury?  Makes no sense.

even if they think he can play, the right move is to sit him.  maybe dress him as an emergency QB or something but I wouldnt start him

yeah thats a fantasy football rule.

not a real football rule.   in real life football, moves like this put the player at risk of re injury (potentially)    without looking at medical records I cannot say if that applies here, but I've heard enough stories of ligament sprains turning to ligament tears.   if hes the franchise QB, you look after your investment.   if hes got more than a nominal risk of re injury, you sit him.  its just common sense.   and the reality is we dont know what the medical records say.   maybe it wasnt a serious sprain in the first place, but maybe it was.   There is a distinct lack of information going on here.    but I also have to assume the team wouldnt be stupid enough to let him play if there was a risk to re injure.   so there is that.   but I've also seen teams do things that are plenty stupid in the past, so its not a given that they will do the right thing

Agreed.  These are not human beings to them; they are commodities.  They have no issue churning and burning through them and moving on to the next commodity. What's the average lifespan for an nfl player?  It ain't long hahaha. Cheers

Oh the NFL talks a good game when it comes to protecting them, but then they fly them over seas to play, they had more regular season games. Yea they really don’t care,  Love is the Packers stud at Qb, if he can play, if they say he’s good to go, he’s playing.

Let's be honest here, the players are just as culpable in that as the teams.  Because players get hurt, the team needs to prepare for that possibility and the backups are just hoping to get on the field and prove their abilities.  There are plenty of players who will lie to get on the field so that they don't lose their job.

Also, the players don't really care about "player safety".  If they did, then they'd tell the owners that they don't want Thursday night games.  But they don't because they want the money more than they want the "safety".  The ONLY thing the players want when they push the "player safety" narrative, is to con rubes into having sympathy for them.

no surprise here.  they won last week so the pressure to have him come back early is not there like it would have been with a loss.
