Just my opinion, but it's based on what I see in real life, conservatives are much more likely to have liberal views on a number of topics. Might be gay marriage, gun control, abortion but it's much easier to find someone who considers themselves a conservative yet is willing to have some liberal views...  Today's liberals need to take it to the max with everything. It's just what they have become over the past 15-20 years. Every issue, there must be bad people for them to scream about and a group they need to stand up for! They always have to be the most virtuous.

Liberal minded people are the driving force behind socialism, communism, social programs at any cost, giving all of our money to illegals etc.

They think as a collective group. They are more easy to manipulate because they have less individual tendencies. More conservative minded people tend to be more individualistic. They are harder to turn into a cult, and they are easier to attack in the beginning because they aren't as cohesive.

Once conservatives band together however, they become much stronger than their liberal counter parts. Liberals are also terrified of wrong think, aka being ostracized by the group.
