Now he is painted as the antichrist. You never stop and ask why, or even if you do, you do not go deep enough to find the truth. This is also flat-out untrue. Folks in NYC, his home town, hated his guts because he stiffed contractors and was a racist slum lord, among many other things. The left relies on surface answers, because if they end up being wrong about Trump, it challenges their entire identity. Your ego does not want you changing your beliefs, especially to a large degree. It means death of the old self. You do not know about this. More presumption. You don't know what I know. My beliefs are probably more malleable than most, honestly. Since I'm not religious, I like to have solid evidence presented to me before "believing" in things. I had a friend message me who I hadn't talked to in a long time. He was surprised by my shift in politics. He tried striking up a conversation about the goings on of the political world. I told him the same thing basically. It would be a waste of my time to debate anything because of his total ignorance. I interpret this as being close minded and sad. I would never tell an old friend they're a waste of time because they disagree with me politically. I'd have to excommunicate a few friends and a whole lotta family. They matter more to me as people than their politics do. An amusing thing happened too. He had said MAGA was made up of people who don't read. He recommended I read The Tao Te Ching, and The Baghavad Gita. He was surprised I had already read them, among other books that explore the deeper realms of history and consciousness. What he said was stupid and untrue. I have not read these, and honestly I don't believe you have either, if for no other reason than you don't "walk the walk" when it comes to what they teach. Or at least you don't in this space. He, like you to some degree, lumps Trump in with most politicians. I know that republicans aren't without blame, but to lump Trump in with most everyone else pure ignorance. I only wish Trump was like most politicians. That would mean he'd at least pay some lip service to doing the right things, and that his presidency would have been strangled in the crib by the first few dozen scandals he faced that would have ruined every POTUS before him. At this point, comparing him to any other American in history IS ignorant. He's absolutely levels above his predecessors in many ways. Few of them good. Quote
