Terry Bradshaw wasn't that good but had Lynn Swan ...just needed somebody to chuck it

Seems like that for a lot of the top ( deva ) WRs.

one must not discount the fact that Darnold is playing the best football of his professional career.  Tip of the hat to KOC, he is the man.

To be fair, Darnold started off very well in Carolina his first 3 games, he was the top fantasy QB in my league then until he got injured, then he sucked.

That said, I think it's more likely it's J Jefferson making Darnold look good than the other way around.

2021:  3 TDs and 1 pick with a 3-0 record, average passer rating 98

2024:  8 TDs and 2 ints, 3-0, 117 passer rating

Its KOC.  Its Jefferson.  Is Sam going to end up the season winning the MVP ??  No.  But unless you are one of the talking heads that proclaimed Jefferson would have a shiit year due to his QB being Darnold, one must at least give him a little credit in running KOC's offense.

Darnold is certainly leading Comeback Player of the Year.

And for the record... I wasn't one of those talking heads downgrading Jefferson.  Ranked him #2 OVERALL.

All the pre-draft downgrading JJ because of Darnold was crazy.  I'm sure there are probably some very happy people who were able to snag him in the bottom half of the first round.

He had 3 rushing TDs in the first 3 games too in 2021.

Darnold's not a great QB by any means, but I don't think anywhere near bad enough to where he tanks a WR as good as J Jefferson's value much at all.

I’m on paper saying i moved Jefferson down on my ppr,, from 4 top, down a few spots Mid first rd.

I took JJ 8th overall in a full pt ppr and couldn’t be happier. Lest we forget he was on his way to a monster day against the niners and got hurt and didn’t finish that could’ve been 30pt day. I ask would he be any better with McCarthy, I’m a Michigan guy but dude is still a rookie qb. So far I think JJ will be fine. The way this year is shaping up so far no one has really been worth their first rd draft spot.

DJ Moore (2021 w/Darnold): 93/1157/4

DJ Moore (2023 w/Fields): 96/1364/8

He had 3 seasons in Carolina that were nearly identical on the stat sheet. That is 1150-1195 yds and 4 TDs each season.

Darnold started 11 of those games...

So Moore was able to be productive throughout multiple years of starting QB's, yet with Fields, he put up a career year.  Fields.  Fields was able to get more out of Moore than Darnold and every other QB he played with.  Fields.  Justin Fields, in case you forgot who that was.

Yes, Darnold started 11 of those games.  Moore's numbers with Darnold project to a 17-game season in line with numbers you noted (remember, those other seasons were 16 games, not 17).

Point being, we've seen Darnold do this in the past and fold like a cheap suit.  Carolina started out 3-1 that year... the next 5 games, he was crap.  I'm not buying the "he had no one" excuse.  We saw what Moore did with Fields, and Fields might even be worse than Darnold (we'll see how that works out).  I think Jefferson will be fine, but prior to his injury, he was a stud, a championship winner.  I think he'll still be great, but he won't be the separator that he was with Cousins.  He was WR1... he'll probably fall in the WR5 to 7 range with Darnold.  Tempered expectations is all I'm saying.

Perhaps, but that's likely the case even if Patrick Mahomes is his QB, that he could fall to the top 5-7 WR range any given season. He's been on fire with Darnold so far, that paired with how he performed last season when he came back, not 100%, with practice squad QBs, tells me he can still finish as the top WR even with a bad QB. He's as reliable a player as there is in fantasy football IMO.

He sure was, And one that I was able to own last season. But with the rookie not so much, I avoided bears players.  Thanks

That’s where I had him in my ppr rankings
