I'm getting the exact opposite take-away than you are, he's not saying there are plans to clamp down on speech, he's saying it's easier than ever to put out false information, and as currently read and interpreted there is nothing that can be down to stop the spreading of that fake information.

Is the GOP the only dishonest party-no, but IMO they are much more dishonest, in quantity and magnitude than the Dems.  There are too many examples to even bother with a list.  And yes, the first amendment for good or bad(bad in this case) is a major block to stopping the spread of misinformation.

shows just how partisan you really are.  The disinformation act the Dems tried to pass gives them the right to discern what is right free speech & what is wrong free speech.  the Dems also attacked major news outlets to limit information that they deemed not beneficial to them & they(media) actually did it.  that is Nazi Goebbels type of stuff and seems you agree with it so long as your party does it.  first amendment to you & the Dems:  pffffft.

Be better Mike. Disinformation is only determined by those in charge.

Oh Bull.  See..I hate this crap.  Both are dishonest, none more than others.  The only reason you believe the GOP is worse is because of the media machine behind it.

The dems hid Biden's mental impairment for a LONG TIME...The media bought into it.  Enough to convince simple minded people like Timmy and Squish that he was fully capable.   Isn't that a huge magnitude lie?

Biden was never fully capable.  He's been a liar and a fool his whole career.

”They’re eating the dogs! They’re eating the cats!” Thanks for passing along that unverified report from your Nazi skank side piece, Don.

It happened, but it’s not widespread

But an estimated 30 million dogs across Asia, including stolen family pets, are still killed for human consumption every year, according to the Humane Society International., external

While not widespread, the charity says the practice is most common in China, South Korea, The Philippines, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and the region of Nagaland in India.

But do we then just wait for the next disaster, at which point crooked opportunists flood the world with incorrect and potentially dangerous information without repercussion, and people die?

Who decides what is potentially dangerous misinformation? Dems want it to be them and only them. They know they will never suffer any repercussions. Covid proved that. They increased their power and that's all they care about.

I stated upthread that I don’t have any good answers. Basically no one can be trusted with that power, especially those that would want it.

Fun Fact:  Trump drew a bigger audience in one campaign stop than Kamala has this entire election.
