Injury Updates

Recommended Posts

Thought it would be helpful to all if we add anything we’ve seen from other sources, especially local ones such as beat writers.

Anyway, I’ve seen a few things as of 9/27…

- CMC may not return until Nov or Dec based on estimates from speculative reports of injury/treatment

- Mixon & AJ Brown both practiced today in some capacity

- Cowboys D is now down both D Lawrence & M Parsons for “multiple weeks”

Feel free to add as the season goes along!

Where did you hear the Mixon practiced today?

Also, how about Odunze? He's listed as questionable in my ESPN league.

Multiple sources on Mixon, nothing specific yet on how much he did

Odunze was questionable going in last week with a knee & had a big game. There’s no “probable” tag anymore so even if they’re recovering from something while still practicing they get a “questionable” tag. I wouldn’t be worried about him. The issue for him is Allen had limited practices the last couple days

Jordan Love again listed as Questionable on Friday's Injury Report. He's been practicing in a limited fashion all week.

Closing in on 3 PM ET Saturday & nothing new. Looks like it might be the dreaded GTD.

Love (knee) is expected to be active Sunday against the Vikings, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

I guess we cannot assume he's going to play just because he's "active". Yahoo says he's playing.

We'll know for sure about an hour before game time tomorrow.

Deebo apparently "expects to play" coming off a calf injury, but I think they'd be pretty foolish to rush him back this week.

Anyone know what's happening with Odunze?

Just made a catch. He’s out there but the Bears are completely inept

Doesn’t matter. The Bears offense is pathetic. Eberflus & Waldron need to be fired

Richardson out for the day with likely a hip flexor. 2 weeks injury at least

AR is what happens when teams fall in love with combine measurables & “potential” instead of game film performance. He’s not a good passer so he has to rely on his running ability which keeps getting him injured

They would be so much better if flacco comes in and lights it up and they bench him like the Panthers did with Young. Just sit him and let him grow.

Now Schefter is reporting CMC has had tendinitis in BOTH Achilles??? Has a consensus #1 fantasy pick ever not played a single down in that season? It feels like he may not get activated until the playoff roster deadline & still not play at all until playoffs

I picked up mason and burned my #2 waiver early in the season.  I actually did not get the number one guy I wanted in Likely but I thought to myself that I have seen enough coachspeak bulllshit that anything could happen and the best thing possible did. I hope they rest CMC till playoffs and ride mason like a workhorse.  He could be my league winner.

What is everyone's opinion on if I should drop Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Dolphins or Isiah Pacheco, RB, Chiefs? Seems like I should drop Pacheco and keep Tua. But, maybe they both heal quickly?

That depends on who's on your roster and who's on the waiver wire.

For instance, if you have a bunch of QBs out there, it may be worth dropping Tua.  I had Tua and dropped him the week he got hurt for Trevor Lawrence.  Then I decided to jump on the Darnold bandwagon, and someone dropped Fields, so now I have him.

If you have guys out there like Stafford or Carr or Geno, you can probably live without Tua.

It is a 2 QB start league; I forgot to mention earlier. So, there isn't much to choose from I would say. I have a feeling Chiefs might hold Pacheco out until the playoffs. I might just drop them both for healthy players or a D/ST and maybe try to get them back later; if they are healthy to get back on the field this season.

It's hard to say without the details, but there would have to be someone pretty decent out there for me to drop Tua in a 2QB league.

Get rid of the Qb before the rb.

Did anyone notice that Achane seemed gimpy most of the 2nd half? He didn’t look right at all

I noticed him walking gingerly to the sideline once.

What week do you think Pacheco will be back? If he isn't back by like Week 12; might be kind of dumb to hang onto him that long.

Tua might return, and then take another shot to his head, and be retired by week 12, then Pacheco returns just in time for ff playoffs.

I went into my draft specifically targeting Tua ... he was going 10th / 11th rounds in mocks. I gladly spent a 9th to ensure I got him. I was projecting ton of yardage and 35+ Tds this year.  Obviously, my hopes were dashed.

But even as bullish as I was / am about Tua... I immediately dropped him after the concussion. Four games out, at a minimum... too long to hold. I'm in a one-Qb league (12-team) and as of now... he's still available on the free-agent market. I will be looking to pick him up just before he comes back.

Someone dropped Trevor Lawrence for Tua after the injury in my 2 QB leagues. So, I am thinking I should probably keep him. Pacheco; I could maybe just get back with FA money pick up later, easier.
