Such a welcome tonic to the bafoonish, acrimony we see today. 

 

Hope he stays long enough to vote and see the outcome.

I met him years ago. He and Ford were on tour and debating at universities. Before their appearance, I got assigned to attend the pre-Q&A they had with the media. I got to shake Carter's hand and ask him a question, which I don't remember what it was. 

I do remember him making a wisecrack about Reagan sending troops into Grenada. He said, "I was confident the United States would be able to defeat Grenada."

One of the better people to be Prez. Been one of the best out of office.
