If you have to drop one, it would be Olave.

He's injured, he's not been good so far this season, plus the Saints look like about the worst team in the NFL after looking like the best team after 2 games

I wasnt aware the concussion thing is as bad as that, but if that is indeed the case, the season may be a writeoff for Olave.    and if the team drops out of playoff contention as it looks like they might, there will be zero reason to rush a young stud wr back into the lineup.  better to let him fully clear and get healthy before looking into the option of letting him play.

I have him in dynasty and I'm seriously considering dropping him.

He's not exactly panned out the way I would hope. Plus, I have Rashid Shaheed, and I'm not dropping him. He would be my WR 5 and I already have his teammate.

Yeah I picked Shaheed in one of my drafts (I think the july mock actually) and hes been good.   I think there is a lot more upside there for him yet.

sounds like you have an interesting decision to make.    maybe someone will trade for him.  there are some who I'm sure value him highly still.   just view him as currently injured

We get big bonuses for TDs over 40 and 50 yds, and Shaheed is nearly priceless with his rate of long TD plays.

I also have Lamb, J Jefferson, and Nacua in front of him. I have D Hopkins, whom isn't a keeper but good for this season. It's PPR, Ladd McConkey too, I'm thinking may be a better keeper than Olave at this point.

Olave just seems like he was supposed to take a step up this season and he's taken a step back. Not a good sign

sorry I worded that wrong.  I meant maybe someone would trade for Olave.  when I re read my post(and your response) it sounded like I was encouraging you to trade Shaheed.  I am not.

sorry for the mixup

I wouldn't drop Olave in dynasty.  Next year is his contract year.

Trade maybe, but not drop.

I'm talking real dynasty here, by the way.  I noticed some people call keeper leagues dynasty leagues.  The answer might change for keeper leagues.

this is something I've always banged the drum on..... never give up for free what you can probably get an asset for in trade.

especially in a dynasty format.

I wasn't confused about what you meant.

I'm shopping him around a bit, but I"m not getting many buyers. I tried shopping him around a bit earlier in the season and didn't get what I was hoping for. I thought I would hold onto him and hope his value went up, but it's gone down.

I’m not sure Olave plays again.  I think this is his 7th concussion across college and NFL.  The league may not ever clear him to play again.

seven?  did I hear that right?   Seven is a lot

If they cleared Tua, they'll clear Olave.

And these receiver contracts are nuts.  Ain't know way he's going to voluntarily give up a chance at 20 mil a year if he balls out next season.

Oh they will, they care about the ....   money.  But he shouldn’t play another down.

Sad as OLAVE is talented but has trouble staying on the field but some has not been his fault. If in dynasty I'd.hold on to him.as.said next year is a contract.year but otherwise I think it's time to move on from him this year and look to grab someone on waiver wire that can help your team. I had OLAVE in several non-dynasty leagues and I have dropped him for other players.

Did you shop him before dropping him?

I didn't realize it was the league that clears a player. I thought it was an independent neurologist.

Yes I did but the offers I got were not very good so I opted to drop him. Couple.of the offers.the guys basically we're saying he's.always injured and that they would take him off my hands. The players they offered in return were basically bench fodder that probably would never see my lineup based.on the players currently on my rosters. One guy even wanted to give me an 10th round pick next year, geez. I wasn't.gonna just.give him up for nothing basically. I did have Olave in a couple of keeper leagues and decided to hold on to him. He's got a ton of talent but I just think he's not gonna have any kind of a huge season given the amount of receivers available in the NFL. Wish I could have got at least a player with upside but it just didn't happen.

ok I googled Olave injury history and got to a website that documents injuries.

Olave has 5 documented concussions (all grade 1 -minor)   and I think this goes back to college.   any high school ones would be undocumented I'm sure.

site name is draft sharks.  they do a pretty nice job of listing all the injuries players have historically had.   on this issue, that site does a pretty good job.   Not sure if they do anything else well.   but  its the only site I use for tracking the injury history of players.

Everything is about money. By that I mean, you need a lot of it just to sustain nowadays, & because of that, everyone wants to amass as much of it as they can. I'm guessing you're no different. If Olave's doctor gives him the OK, and he decides to come back, do you really think it's the job of the NFL to say no, we don't believe that's in your best interest and we aren't going to allow it. I'm almost certain the NFLPA would file a lawsuit if that happened. You're probably right in saying he shouldn't play another down, but that's not our decision. Peace

They have changed the game so much, to protect the players, why shouldn’t they step in to protect another human from suffering later in life,  it’s not going to happen, but yea , I think it would great to see them actually do that, they ruin the game, it’s about time they protect.

Agree, it’s not our decision, but it’s still okay to post ones opinion.  Thanks.

So you don't think the NFLPA would sue the NFL, if one of their due paying members wanted to come back & earn money, but the NFL wouldn't allow it ?

Of course they would, don’t you think that it’s about time they really show that they are indeed concern about the players, like they have been preaching with every new destroy the game rule change.

Bad take.

You're not a doctor.  5 years ago you didn't even know what CTE was.  Stop acting like you're an expert.  The reason concussion protocol exists is so players can fully recover from a concussion before potentially getting another one.  We don't even know the long term effect of getting a successive concussion would be under the current rules.  They haven't even been in place long enough.

Man, they did a great job scaring everyone over concussions.  You're ready to run people out of the league over them when doctors say the player is fine.

Is it time to give up on Olave or Higgins?  Looks like I’m going to have to bounce one to have a WR2 this week.

Olave yes unfortunately, & I’m a Saints fan. What do you think of Thomas? He’s a huge talent but the offense is dead.
