I'd worried that DOGE had been negligible and reduced to a bucket (or ten) of water scooped off the Titanic. Between that and the $100B raised in tariffs, it turned out that they got the deficit all the way down to zero and $27B into the black for June. BREAKING: Treasury Department reveals MASSIVE budget surplus (youtube.com) Is this going to be a one-off or can this hold up going forward with the tariffs/DOGE result in balanced budgets from here on out. I'd presumed D or R, going forward it was all a sea of red ink for the rest of my life other than that small window during the Clinton/Gingrich clashes. Trump has already had me singing his praises for the other wonderful and amazing things he's done and in the process of doing, but if he can actually balance the budget as well, the seemingly most intractable problem of all..
