So this 30yo chick from Maui went missing in LA and failed to make a connecting flight to NYC. Sent texts saying she was scared and somebody was trying to steal her identity before she disappeared. Her family we terrified.

Only, now it appears that she purposefully stayed in LA and then went down to San Diego and willingly crossed the border into Mexico alone. Guess she wanted to “disconnect.”

Except that family that was so terrified for her? Guess she didn’t tell them.

And apparently her father was so distraught he took his own life in grief right near LAX, after looking for.

Her dad killed himself because she was missing?  That seems excessive.  If she’s dead, that jives more (although still not really) but merely because she’s missing?

Yeah, that doesn't add up.  That makes no sense whatsoever.  If you're so distraught why would you not wait until you're absolutely sure that she's dead (if that's the case)?

It is super weird that her dad killed himself before they could even find out what happened to her. No matter what for the rest of her life she is going to have to deal with the fact she likely pushed her dad over the edge with grief to the point he thought killing himself was the only option. That is a shittty kid.

Cops seem pretty sure. Don’t think they’d say that without a very solid basis.

Then again, they could be idiots. Or covering it up, but I don’t know what motive they’d have for that.

I dunno, the reporting has definitely been weird on this. I chalk it up to it being an emergency situation where people were trying to find her right then, so they didn’t necessarily have the time to get it all straight. Be interesting to see what the real story is when the dust settles

This reminds me of the movie The Mist where the dude offs himself and then a minute later the army shows up to save the day and kill the monsters.

If you read that he jumped that is weird.  I read blunt force trauma.

Actually, the dude did not off himself. He killed his son and his friends and then a few seconds the army showed up to save the day.

Both. He jumped from the parking garage (apparently there’s footage and everything) and he died from blunt force of going splat on the pavement.

Obviously there’s weird sh1t going on but this part seems pretty clear. Now why he did it, that’s definitely weird

I guess the report I read was inaccurate.
