What do y’all think? Angry customer? Hit? Jilted husband?

Any way we can tie this to the libs?? 🤞

The chief executive of UnitedHealthcare, one of the nation’s largest health insurers, was fatally shot outside a hotel in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday morning, the police said.

The executive, Brian Thompson, 50, was shot just after 6:45 a.m. at the New York Hilton Midtown on Avenue of the Americas near 54th Street, according to a police report. Mr. Thompson was taken to Mount Sinai West, where he was pronounced dead.

Police officers were still searching for the gunman, who fled on foot along the Avenue of the Americas, the police said. Witnesses described him as wearing a cream-colored jacket, a black face mask and a gray backpack, but the police later said he appeared to have been dressed all in black.

The police believe Mr. Thompson was targeted in the attack, according to two people familiar with the investigation who spoke on the condition of anonymity. The shooting happened on the morning of the company’s annual investor conference in New York City, and Mr. Thompson had arrived early to prepare for the conference, the people said.

The gunman apparently knew which door Mr. Thompson was going to enter and shot him several times from a few feet away, then fled. The gunman, the people said, ran, jumped on a bicycle and pedaled away.

Definitely a hit, that's not random violence.

My thought as well. Apparently knew exactly when and where to find him. Sounds pretty well set up and then he fled on a bike so no plates or anything to track. Could well have been a pro

Not sure how this is possible with the extremely restrictive gun control laws tbey have in NYC.

Especially since people aren’t allowed to enter or leave the city, like in Escape from New York.

I'm guessing a good white dude in a suit.  Since you want to start pointing fingers, I will too.  :)

Shooter knew where he would be and when. Others involved. Or ghey

Why does it have to be ghey? I could see maybe this CEO was banging the shooter’s wife. But it seems pretty sophisticated for that

This story is crazy!  Assassination of an insurance CEO.  Used a silencer.  Going to be a huge story and could go in a number of different directions.

Damn. I hadn't heard about the silencer. Seems like a hit. Not too many aggrieved insurance customers with the capability to carry that out themselves. Although there are millions of aggrieved insurance customers...

Silencers are easy.

I realize that. But I know a lot of gun owners, myself included. I know exactly one guy that has a silencer-equipped pistol, but he's an avowed gun nut that also has a .50 caliber rifle. Silencers are not that common in home arsenals. At least not that I'm aware of.

Imagine a professional using a handgun when some around here insist that Assault Rifleswhatever that may be, are the tool of choice for those in the know who are seeking to kill.  Perhaps at least it was an Assault Handgun.

I hear he fled using first Assault Sneakers and then an Assault e-bike.

Guy looked like he was collecting his casings

Not to me.  My casings usually fly away 5 to 8 feet or so to the side.  To me it looked like the casing was stovepiped, not kicked out by the extractor.  It looked like the gun did not cycle and load the next round.  I thought he was knocking the stuck cartridge out and cycling the gun to load his next round.  Still, my eyes are not what they once were so I don't dispute your analysis, I merely say that is not how I interpreted his motions.  I could well be wrong.

I’m no expert on suppressors before today reading about them  on twitter but that’s ok because I became an expert on war and pandemics etc. the same way

I agree with takes I’ve read that he knew how the firearm was going to react. .
