I had a dog who had its leg amputated.  It's amazing how well animals adapt.  Don't put the dog down because of it if that was even a thought.

Find a surgeon that does PRP injections.  We had two older canines in the past that tore ACLs on ice.  Much cheaper that the surgery quotes.

After the PRP and some healing time they were mostly fine - and watched them like hawks in the Winter.
