Luther Burden, the NFL wide receiver drafted by the Chicago Bears in 2025, has the middle name Dean. He is known as Luther Dean "Ticky" Burden. His full name is Luther Dean Burden III.

I often see people stating Luther will be playing the slot in the mold of ASB in the new offense.  Why is this?  I can't find any mention of Ben Johnson saying anything about his role.  Odunze / DJ Moore just as likely to play this role, no??

I would imagine that they have plans of moving DJ Moore in June. Otherwise it's a head scratcher.

Not sure what is so confusing?  He played primarily slot in college.  The other 2 have largely been thought of as perimeter WRs.  Not some big mystery here.  Not saying that all 3 couldnt play multiple spots.  But its not rocket science to believe Luther will play a lot of slot.

Perhaps you need to re-read my comment more slowly.  I stated "I often see people stating Luther Burden will become Amon Ra in the new Bears offense".  "Ben Johnson has made zero mention of this anywhere I can find".  (That is me asking if I missed something he said)

"People" must include you which reinforces the point of my comment.....which is, no one has a fooking clue and the wannabe ff pundits are the only ones saying this.

ASB primarily moves inside only in 3 WR sets and often plays outside in 2 WR sets.  Knowing this, and the fact that Ben Johnson's initial depth charts were left completely BLANK because his entire team is an open competition, I am skeptical of Burden being the next Amon Ra and someone such as Rome could easily play this role instead.

Will Burden "primarily play the slot" ??  Well yes, one can easily infer this.  I don't think that piece is confusing at all nor "rocket science" as you so eloquently put it.  But to say he will become ASB in the new offense is far from something you can say is going to happen.
