And... can we do what was proposed and everyone agreed too?  You drop only the amount of players you have picks for.

IE you only have 3 draft picks, you only need to drop 27.

Notably for 2025 1st round picks:

Neckbeards has El Padrino's pick (#2)

Peaces has Ski Colts pick (#9)

4077 has Retired Samuri's pick (#11)

These should all come over automatically when the new league site is created on MFL and these are imported.

New League Site is up ( I was lazy and used Bigtraine's standings for draft....)

I have a replacement owner for Dream Wreckers.   He has been in our home league (Me, Sux, Infidels are in that league) for a couple decades.  Good guy and reliable.  We were Co- Commissioners during the News Paper Days!   Any issues for anyone with that?

I think the allowing of drops/adds through the entirety of the playoffs is a given and will change that.

The roster cut down to 25 change to dropping only the amount of draft picks you have needs to be discussed.    The roster cut down number is NOT solely for the draft, it also helps balance teams.  I am hesitant to mess with something that has worked for 20 years.  Once the draft is over, we can open up Waivers and you can fill your roster spots then.

We need to set a date for the draft.  Typically it is at the end of July.  August 1st looks good to me being a Friday.

No issues with the new owner, sounds great to me.

August 1st is not good for me, but I can set my auto-draft.  I'll have pretty limited cell service on Aug 1 and probably no cell service after that until the afternoon/evening of the 3rd.  Starting on Monday the 4th would be much better for me, but honestly if starting on the 1st works for everyone else then I don't have a problem with that.

Forcing dropping 5 is silly.  If I have zero draft picks why would I drop anyone off my roster?  My whole goal is to develop a bench.  Now I have to dump my developers off my bench so you can pick them up?  That's dumb.  I've made my dynasty moves through the year UTILIZING my draft picks to pick up people for those spots.  Now I have to drop people out those spots I filled using my draft picks?

If that's the case... no more trading draft picks.

The roster size we have to cut down to at the beginning of each year has nothing to do with the draft.  Every team has to have the same amount of rostered players at the start of the league year and we chose 25 to be that roster size.

The start of the league year is 30 spots. How you get to them is up to you.  If you want to trade away all 5 of your draft picks every year and fill those spots with veterans, IE you have no rookie spots to draft, then so what?  Do you not have 30 guys at game like everyone else?

Technically it's a rookie and free agent draft and always has been. We've always has to cut down to 25. I don't mind putting it to a vote but to be fair I'd say if it were to pass then it should go into effect 2026. JMO... So owners could plan for it.

I think it is fine suggestion, but it was not unanimously agreed to, nor passed any vote to make a change.  

you're my boy, but it was premature to make certain moves on the assumption a rule would be changed in time for the 2025 season (especially with the pace of this group :lol: )

Personally I'll vote for whatever keeps the most league members happy on the roster thing.  I think what we have has worked fine, and we have really deep rosters in this league anyway so I don't see any problem dropping down to 25.  If your 26th player is so good it hurts to get rid of them, your team is probably doing just fine IMO.  We're getting a little worked up about Sincere McCormick and Khalif Raymond types here aren't we?  

I still want to get rid of kickers and defenses but I think I'm in the minority on that one. 😂

Meh... I've suggested it for the last couple years to get the can kicked down the road.  So we vote.  If it passes great.  If it doesn't fine.  I'm just tired of... we'll look at it next year.

Does this work both ways?   Meaning, if I have 30 rostered players and have 7 draft picks, do I have to cutdown my roster to 23?

imo yes.  we shouldn't be able to go over the allowable roster. 

 

so if an owner wants to rebuild via draft, they would have to drop enough to cover the extra picks...or skip the pick,

Yeah we've already been doing that.  I've had to drop to under 25 a few times.

I just updated the website to show cuts & fees are due on the 26th.

Draft is tentatively set to begin on AUGUST 4th - if that don't work for you, speak up now!
