YES!!!

Cue Country Roads!!!

You know, I find it kind of ironic that "educated" people at West Virginia University sing the song as if it were an anthem for them, while the song is actually about western Virginia.

Good luck.  The former AD over ticketing at Kansas s a friend/business associate of mine.  He came in from the University of Arkansas when Jeff Long became AD.  I worked with him on ticketing when he was at Arkansas.  Funny how times change.  At one time I'd have had an in there, but he's moved back to CA and started his own business.  I know Tickets for Less is a partner with the University, not sure how many they'll funnel through them vs selling on their website.

I'm a donor so I have a better shot than some, but I'm not optimistic.

True, but it was adopted as one of West Virginia's state anthems in 2014...

I love AI data centers, just not always the responses they produce :(

would I be offered the opportunity to purchase college world series tickets as a donor to the athletic fund of a university that is playing?

Yes, you will likely be offered the opportunity to purchase tickets, but access is strictly determined by your ranking within the university's athletic donor priority point system.
How the Ticket Allocation Works
  • Limited School Allotments: The NCAA only allocates 1,200 to 1,400 reserved tickets per game directly to each participating school's athletic department.
  • Internal Demand: A significant portion of that small allotment is immediately taken to cover the families of players and coaches, athletic staff, and university dignitaries.
  • The Donor Hierarchy: The remaining tickets are offered to athletic fund donors based on their priority point tier (determined by lifetime giving, annual donation amounts, and consecutive years purchasing season tickets). [1]
What This Means for You
Because the ticket pool is so small, only top-tier donors usually qualify to buy the school's direct allotment. If you are a casual or lower-tier donor, the tickets will almost certainly sell out before the window opens to your tier.
If your university athletic department sends out an email to request or request postseason tickets, submit your application immediately. If you miss out on the donor window, you will need to buy tickets through the NCAA Men's College World Series Ticket Marketplace via Ticketmaster or premium hospitality vendors like
If you would like, I can look into the specific postseason ticket request rules for the Kansas Jayhawks or another specific school to see how they structure their priority tiers. Let me know what you prefer!

Just makes it even worse, doesn't it?

I don't think so, but I grew up in WV and went to WVU, so it doesn't really bother me...

Not saying it should bother anyone, I just meant that it's funny that WV and WVU are praising it like a moniker for their state, when it's about Virginia, not West Virginia.  They either can't diguish between "West Virginia" and "western Virginia", or they choose not to.  I just find that funny.

I am kind of worried about Game 1 in the Morgantown Super Regional...

I just have this feeling that WVU will come out flat because they might be thinking that they have a "cakewalk" to the World Series because it is Cal Poly, not UCLA...

It wouldn't surprise me if they lost Game 1, but I hope it is just me overanalyzing them...

I got tickets

Congrats, enjoy it.  Has KU baseball been decent all along?  I've always fooled with SEC baseball and don't recall a regional there.  I've dealt with Arkansas baseball a lot, those people are like rabid dogs for that program.  Huge ballpark that is overflowing for regionals and supers.  The Auburn Super Regional ticket was very tough until the last 24 hours.  The school has sold all the SRO the fire marshall will allow and has now added an outfield deck that you can't even access the inside of the stadium from.

Troy Trojans going to the World Series for the first time in program history!

My wife from Buttscrew Alabama went there... so I'm a fan by association.

Thanks, but the players did all the work, I just root for them…

it's still an accomplishment when a team that you follow and root for the most achieves success.  The players appreciate their fanbase's enthusiasm that's shared even though one group did quite a bit more of the lift than the other.
