TimHauck 2,866 Posted July 12 I see Fox News is starting to run with the story about the pot farm owners “donating to Act Blue!” But at least one of them has donated to both Dems and Republicans. They’re of course also in California where more politicians are going to be Dem, this seems similar to SBF in that they probably just donated to people they thought would help their business, regardless of political party. I do think it’s interesting the owners say they didn’t “knowingly” hire illegals but then definitively stated they didn’t hire any minors. Seems like they’re basically admitting they hired illegals there. The photo I saw of the “children” didn’t look like they were particularly young, but probably some in the 16/17 range. His competitors do as well and he wouldn't be competitive without them. He'd prefer not to so he'd be ecstatic if we got rid of them, but that's not his reality. And of course, like @The Real timschochet, he makes them "contractors" to get around the illegality of hiring them. But here’s some interesting data although a bit dated showing an extreme conservative lean for workers in the contraction and agriculture industries. Most farmers I know are actually conservatives but know how focked the state is with pay to play. the article I read from a trusted source quotes glasshouse as being able to produce a lb for under 100$ per which is unheard of. My indoor cost about 450 a lb to produce and my greenhouse has small margins at about 200 per. Outdoor you’d be lucky to cost under 100$ a lb.
