Didn't want to wake up at 6:00 am on my day off, so I picked early (thanks, JagFan).  There were a couple of different options I considered at the two, but I think Robinson is the safest.  He's an old-school, three-down back who was top five in every major rushing category.  He had great numbers last year that improved when Penix took over and he'll be under center from game one this year.  If he continues to avoid injury (knock on wood) he's an easy top three RB and, potentially, number one fantasy prospect this year.

It certainly doesn't look good for getting through the first round today.

I wanted to go RB/WR in the first 2 rounds, but couldn't pass up Nabors, and then Henry/McCaffrey went, and I think there's a dropoff after those 2. We'll see what RBs make it back to me in the next turn.

My goal was to grab two RBs with my first two picks.  I wanted Achane and MacCaffrey but Iceman sniped me.  I'll settle for Henry, even though it's PPR.

I'm not kidding, Hawkeye. I had the EXACT SAME PLAN!

It looks like Polecatt was posting on the main board an hour before he was on the clock, but he never made a pick (or sent names).

Does he know this thing has started?

I sent him a couple emails today and just messaged him here. Emails may have gone to spam.

Just noticed this thread…yall bear with me, I’m figuring this thing out 😂.  I kept going back and forth between Bijan and Chase with the first pick, and I usually lean towards RBs early but I feel like Chase was the safer pick.

Trying something I've never done before.  Figured I might as because of my draft position.  Starting with 3 straight RBs in a PPR could be risky.

Hawkeye, did you pick out of turn?  I thought Landry had 2.11. Checking before I make my picks.

😃 Not your pick. Mr. Landry is up at 2.11.

Holy crap!  I don't know what I was thinking.  I got waaaay ahead of myself there.  Sorry guys.  Thanks for catching it right away.

All good. You can still try your strategy... just have to wait a bit. 😉

I can't imagine too many people have tried to make two picks in one round before.  😂

Was eyeballing either Adams or Hill for this pick, but TBay and worm took care of that for me.  I had a lot more confidence in Jacobs than I did the remaining options at WR.  Jacobs landed right around RB6 last year and his situation hasn't changed, so a top 5 finish is not out of the question.  I'm quite happy with the 1-2 punch of Bijan and Jacobs, although it remains to be seen what my WR room will look like.

With my third round pick, I still was not enamored with the WRs available in comparison to what Bowers offers.  I think there are two (maybe three) TEs who are head and shoulders above the rest and I did not believe any of them would make it back to me.  I think Bowers provides me with a distinct advantage at the position and (I hope) will make up for weaker WR1 that I'll roster.

I wanted Jacobs at the 2/3 turn….but Mr Landry sniped me.  I’m ok with starting my draft with Chase Brown (now I have both Cincy Chase’s) in PPR.  I think he holds onto the lions share of RB touches in a high powered offense.  As for Garrett Wilson, I may be a little higher on him than most.  He’s back with his college QB and Adams is gone so I expect a good year for him in PPR formats.

I'm not down on him, he had good numbers with lesser QB play. Still the risk of a very run heavy offense and inaccurate QB play, regardless of rapport. I probably don't want to draft him this year but not exactly avoiding him. He's a fine WR2 in round 3

I like the McBride pick.  I went back and forth a number of times between him and Bowers.  Eventually landed on Bowers as I think he has a higher ceiling, but it would not surprise me if McBride it the #1 TE this year.

Breece was the last of a tier for me, so I'm glad to nab him @ 3.06. Not sure what I would've done had nobody grabbed him. 😯

that selection really grinded my gears <_<

Once Jacobs and Chase Brown were gone and it got to your pick I pretty much decided I would take one of those 2.  If Bowers was still there I may have still taken McBride, but it's a coin flip for me.

1.05 - Saquon

The only other player I would have considered is Amon Ra.  I have two concerns about Saquon.  The first is the volume of touches and the injury history that goes with it, and the second is that I expect Barkley to come back to earth a bit.

As for the volume, I had to get over it.  Barkley obviously has season tilting talent and situation, so passing on the potential #1 overall player wasn't an option, and besides, injuries are analog.  Even if he does get hurt, it could be on the shorter side and not season ending.

However, there is the second part in that expect his numbers to regress.  Yes the Eagles o-line took a hit with Kelce retiring, but also, there is this phenomenon when a player changes teams sometimes where they get the chip on their shoulder and you get A++ focus and determination the whole season as a bit of an F-you to the team that let them go.  The issue with that, though, is once the player proves his point, the chip is gone, and instead of A++ focus and determination, maybe you get a range from A++ to C+ depending on the week, and I expect that to happen here as well.

2.08 Ladd McConkey

On the board: AJ Brown,  Tyreek, Josh Jacobs, Chase Brown, Nico Collins, Brian Thomas

AJ Brown was likely the better value, but I was gun shy about putting all my eggs in the Eagles offense basket given the schedule is much tougher this year.  Ladd feels a little reachy here even though I don't think he'd have been around at 3.05.  It also broke into a tier, but I felt a little jammed up in that given the lineup requirements of 3 WRs and how the draft was unfolding, I felt like there was going to be RB value later, and minimum WR value.  In the end, I could've picked AJ, Nico or Brian Thomas and felt the exact same way.  Tyreek wasn't a strong consideration here because my opinion is that the Miami offense is broken and Tyreek is on the verge of falling off.  I had Tua and Tyreek stacked last year, and even the first game left me feeling something was wrong, so now I'm spooked.

3.05 Tee Higgins

Under consideration: McLaurin, Mike Evans, Breece, and Kamara

I really hated this spot. I usually don't take tightends this early, but I would've taken Bowers if he was around, and I knew Jonathan Taylor was going to go where he did, but I was holding out hope for him to drop a spot.  In the end, I chose Higgins because I think the Bengals defense got even worse, and one thing I learned in the Colts Marvin Harrison Sr/Reggie Wayne days is that a great QB and bad defense equals two top fantasy receivers.  In the end, it came down to one of my staple rules to take players on good offenses if given the choice.  I don't think the Jets and Saints are going to score a lot of points, and I just had Higgins slightly higher than McLaurin and Evans.
