We contribute to the malaise, but to lay an assassination at the feet of everyone that disagrees with the politics of the victims will just shove us further down. I'm a few years younger than the Boomer line, but I spend a lot of time with them in my retired educational activities.  As a group they are mostly Left -- let's just say that I never bring up my politics in discussions. I've wondered why that is.  Certainly the hippies/Vietnam protestors come from that cohort, but it must be more than that.
