My X timeline is filled with two things. Liberals celebrating the murder of Charlie, and Conservatives celebrating them getting fired.

I know liberals and conservatives are different sides of the same coin, but dang. I thought conservatives were against people losing their jobs when it came to free speech? I've heard countless conservatives say so long as you're not on the job, in uniform, or trying to represent your corporation, what you do and say (so long as it's not illegal) is not your company's business.

Did they forget so soon what happened to their voices?

I do not like this one bit.

Republicans- People with male genitalia shouldnt be in the ladies locker room. Children cant consent to puberty blockers.

Democrats- oh my god, they are just trying to live! There is a trans genocide! You want them to die. You should lose your job!!!

Also democrats- charlie kirk deserved to die for talking.

Republicans- you should lose your job!

Cdub- these things are the same. Therefore only republicans should get in any trouble though.

I believe in free speech. I'm a free speech absolutist Not free speech I agree with.

During COVID doctors lost their license speaking out against the jab. Was that right?

Conservatives lost their jobs saying George Floyd was a crack head and dunking on him

Conservatives lose their jobs speaking again trannies,  blacks, Jews, illegals etc....

Is it payback? Is this were we are at in the country right now?

Free speech so long as that speech is in line with the beliefs of those in power?

Liberals liked to say you can have free speech but youre not free from the consequences from that free speech.

Very troubling... And the average normie here and in public claps like a focking seal not even realizing they are allowing their voice to be taken away when they aren't in the majority of public thought.

Why would you think that? Conservatives have been doxxing journalists, teachers, doctors etc. for years.

Did Charlie Kirk keep a list of people of professors that they disagreed with?

This whole line about Charlie Kirk was for free speech is BS

Yes. Lots of them received harassing phone calls / emails and death threats.

I don't think anyone should lose their job for disagreeing with Charlie Kirk.  Even if they make stupid/insensitive comments I'm not for canceling them, I just chalk that up for them showing how stupid they are.  The line to me is when it goes beyond the insensitive and openly supporting murder and it's a public employee, perhaps a teacher influencing children.  I wouldn't want anyone posting support for Dylan Robinson teaching my child anymore than I'd want someone teaching them who supported Dylan Roof.  It shows at the very least a lack of morality, and perhaps a sign of mental illness their mentality has devolved to that state,

I agree with this, but I’d go further than just a public employee. If one of my employees who interacts with customers was saying or supporting things that could be detrimental to my business, I may terminate them depending on the severity.

Agreed.  We have freedom of speech, from the government.  Private companies have a right to do what they want, especially when it's statements that can harm your business.

Either everybody stops or everybody does it.

From now on if we disagree with you we are coming for your job and your reputation.

At this point it is up to the left to stop doing it.

Same thing goes with racial politics. From now on we are pointing out race whenever we feel like it because that is how the game is being played.

I want every teacher, healthcare worker and public employee fired for simply being insane enough to publicly acknowledge how insane they are. These were the people (and fat Tim) that were perfectly fine with conservatives getting sh!t canned for their words. They are also the same people that closed our schools, fired people for refusing the Covid shot and, fully endorsed closing small businesses for a virus and ruining livelihoods. Fukoff

Interesting subject. What surprises me most in a case like this, (Charlie Kirk) is that you have so many supposedly professional/educated people, posting something undeniably inflammatory & not expecting repercussions of some type ?

I don't know if things like that should be considered free speech, but I know at the very least, it's in poor taste.

A couple examples from Minnesota.

An elementary school teacher named Ali Trepanier posted: “Yay! I hope he’s dead” in response to a social media post that reported Kirk had been shot.

Another teacher, Melissa Mackens Nangle, said: “He was a !! I don’t hate that he died. I don’t hate that he died the way he did” and “He and his like-minded buddies are the worst humanity has to offer. F–k all of them!”

Nangle works as a language arts teacher at Austin High School in Austin, Minnesota. The school district said they are aware of the post.

Posting something like that under your name online shows such bad judgment I can’t blame an employer for canning them.

I agree, & it shouldn't matter if it's a public school teacher, or an employee for a fortune 500 company.

So the same thing that pissed you off, you're now promoting.  You see the hypocrisy here?

I’m loving cancel culture 2.0 and I don’t give a Fock who cares. This tragedy is the perfect opportunity to get rid of these scumbags teaching our kids , in the medical field and flying jets etc. What you see in this videos is how they feel about anyone who doesn’t think like them. They’re damaged. Screw them

They aren't being charged with anything. They are losing their job. If someone worked for me and said they want to see me dead, am I supposed to keep them employed? No.

There is a line where our words have consequences. I know this isn't where you are coming from, but the extreme left is trying to conflate free speech with common sense.

Should someone be fired for stating facts about covid? No. Should someone be fired for saying they don't want to get a dangerous vaccine that doesn't even prevent the disease it was supposedly designed for? No.

Should a teacher who is around my kid be fired for cheering for the death of Charlie Kirk? Maybe also hinting at clipping his kids still wouldn't be going too far. Yes. Not even a debate.

Im on the fence here.  Initially i was 100% supportiveof this.   Im still in support, especially if its a teacher or healthcare worker,  and depending on what is "said".

Also, getting tired of the left doing all this crap, all the time, and getting away with it.  So yeah theres a little bit of turnabout is fair play for me
