Probably because Kimmel’s team claims that’s a lie.  There is a middle ground between “doubling down” and “apologizing,” which IMO is the most likely scenario for what he was planning to do.

Timhauck nails it per usual.

If anyone knows about canceled, second rate tv shows it’s Donald.

Sorry. I watched (and really liked the Apprentice) Especially the Celebrity ones.

I am separate the Donald Douche/Apprentice from the Donald Douche/POTUS

Show always had good ratings. https://www.thewrap.com/celebrity-apprentice-trump-tv-ratings-arnold/

It sucked when Arnold did it.

Jimmy Kimmel's return show on ABC had 6.3 million broadcast viewers and a total of over 26 million views across social media platforms like YouTube, making it his most-watched episode in over a decade. This occurred despite the show being unavailable in about a quarter of the country due to affiliate blackouts.

okay, sure.  Let's see how he does tonight.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live!" pulled in 1.7 million viewers among the key demo for Tuesday’s return but plummeted to 465,000 only 48 hours later.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live!" also lost significant viewers in the younger demographic of adults aged 18-49, managing 1.2 million on Tuesday but quickly losing 73% to settle for only 334,000 on Thursday.

Jimmy Kimmel sheds 64% of audience after short-lived ratings spike following suspension 😂

Jimmy Kimmel’s ratings spike was short-lived.

Disney briefly suspended ABC’s "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" after the host’s remarks about the alleged assassin of Charlie Kirk sparked widespread backlash. After an about-face from Disney, the liberal comedian returned last Tuesday, and Kimmel’s emotional return drew a massive audience, but viewers haven’t stuck around.

On Thursday, "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" averaged 2.3 million total viewers — a staggering 64% drop from the 6.5 million who tuned in for Tuesday’s much-hyped return

Per the article:

On Thursday, Oct. 2, "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" averaged 1.9 million viewers

Kimmel averaged 1.6 million viewers in 2025 before Disney decided to temporarily sideline him

So, he is doing better than before the suspension 😀

Jimmy Kimmel’s Post-Suspension Ratings Boost Has Evaporated

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/tv/articles/jimmy-kimmel-post-suspension-ratings-165305229.html

Jimmy Kimmel’s ratings surge lasted about as long as his suspension.

The ABC late-night host’s show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, dropped to 1.70 million viewers on Wednesday, October 1 — representing a 74% decrease from the week prior, when he scored a massive 6.48 million viewers for his first show back from suspension.

Those 1.70 million viewers puts Kimmel below his Q2 nightly average of  1.77 million viewers, and a bit above the 1.50 million his show averaged in Q3, between July and September. But comparing to Q3 is not wise, considering Kimmel takes the summer months off from his show.
Here is how Kimmel’s show performed in the week following his return, per Nielsen data:

Sept. 23: 6.48M viewers

Sept. 24: 2.43M viewers

Sept.25: 2.30M viewers

Sept. 29: 2.85M viewers

Sept. 30: 2.45M viewers

Oct. 1: 1.70M viewers

For comparison, Fox News star Greg Gutfeld averaged 2.98 million viewers on Oct. 1 — the same as he averaged in Q3.

If you somehow missed the drama, ABC and Disney suspended Kimmel on Sept. 17 for implying the man who killed Charlie Kirk was a supporter of President Donald Trump — contrary to reports. Here is the comment from his Sept. 15 show that led to his suspension:

The MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.

The comment led to swift pushback from Nexstar and Sinclair, which control a large chunk of ABC affiliates, and FCC Chair Brendan Carr on Sept. 17 said he felt Kimmel’s comment warranted a suspension.

Hours later, Kimmel was suspended — leading to some critics saying ABC and Disney caved to Trump’s administration; White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt denied that the president put “pressure” on ABC to suspend Kimmel.

Following all of that, ABC announced on Sept. 22 it was lifting Kimmel’s suspension and he returned to his program the following evening.

But as I noted above, he is doing better than before the suspension, averging 1.9M viewers on Oct 2 versus 1.6M. 😃

That's akin to winning the tallest midget contest.  Bwhahahahahahah

Why do they put him out there when he’s obviously losing boatloads of money? He has lower ratings than Colbert?

Because he's anti Trump!

I can see no other reason. The FCC should crack down on this in kind donation to the DNC.  That’s not what our public airwaves are for.

Howard Stern the same.   He's lame now but hes 100% anti Trump so he stays.   Stil a big market for that stuff.

Kimmel and Stern were soooooo misogynistic,  but when they wen't anti-Trump, the left forgave them

Kimmel is high profile, he hosts the Oscars. Guy is under contract though next year for something like 35 million. His show may or may not make money seems to be all over the place on this when looking online but they’d need to replace him with something on the fly, pay him out, can his whole staff.

We’ll see if he get picked back up but keeping him on is a business decision.

He's meaningless in life just as you are peeboy.

And it is fascinating how much you hate mail carriers. What a focking weirdo you are that you keep saying stupid random things about people who hold jobs.

Liberals love him, only Liberals. Probably because he's racist and hates Women.

All I see is that the sugar rush is over and things / ratings have returned to normal. When Colbert goes off the air, Kimmel should be the prime beneficiary as people in the angry retarded leftoid demographic switch over looking for their late night hatefest fix.

It's not about Kimmel, it never was, it's about the government using their power to silence critics.

I never watched Kimmel, still don't, but as a freedom loving American I support his right to say whatever he wants, and you all should too.
