I really wish late night stuff would stay out of politics. Nobody wants to be inundated (well maybe some here do) with politics 24/7. The late night shows should just be about some goofy comedy with interviews mixed in...and maybe a very soft political joke or two if you must. Letterman did that, Leno did that, Conan did that. It works.

Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expected widow.” I think I get the narrow angle of the joke but it is so narrow that if he felt he had to make the joke (he didn't) he should've phrased it slightly differently. It would probably be best for him to just stop wading into political comments altogether just because it doesn't work in a late night format well at all. Arguably it doesn't work anywhere. I think he thinks the joke is funny because he is from the school of comedy that is very much about who cares if someone is offended....he was a Stern fan, he was a radio guy, did the Man Show on Comedy Central. Honestly- Kimmel is essentially the type of comedy people have been yelling for years needs to come back- humor with no regard for offending people. The difference is we now have a President who can't take a joke and has devoted people who will fight even a mild criticism of him. And no- I don't think leftists would be any better about it if all the roles were reversed. We just have too many people who want to be outraged in society anymore who wouldn't have functioned in the 70's, 80's and 90's 1

I think it was more about Melania’s resting b face and the fact that she doesn’t usually appear to be happy when in public with Don. Still not really funny, but certainly not worse than the many that joked about Paul Pelosi almost being killed. 1
