I think he deserves serious consideration for this award if the Israeli-Gaza ceasefire achieves a lasting peace. (in Middle East terms, a “lasting peace” is anything that is at least a year.) 

But it’s too soon for that, the timing is off. Let’s see how this peace deal plays out; I am for once quite optimistic. If it goes well give him the award for sure next time; he’s earned it.

Donald is an idealist and likes to see the good in people . He knows he’s deserved this for years but doesn’t recognize that it’s not on the up & up. Perhaps he does realize its failings and is trying to rehabilitate it

- gets hostages released from Gaza
- gets ceasefire 
- denuclearizes Iran
- gets prisoners released from Venezuela, Russia, Belarus, and Iraq.

Doesn’t get the Nobel Peace Prize.

Meanwhile, a CIA-backed operative whose career revolves around pushing for a foreign invasion and violent regime change in Venezuela DOES get the Nobel Peace Prize.

The dude has helped broker like 6 peace deals just in his second term, not to mention a number of them in his first term. He deserves it regardless of how the specific Israel deal works out.   Obama got the Nobel prize for doing nothing.

I mean, Obama won it for being the first black president (He literally did nothing else to win it.)  Trump helping to broker a peace in the middle east HAS to be more impressive than just being black and winning the presidency.

If nothing else, Trump has managed to make the focus of this year's announcement about him not getting a prize his followers claim is a farce but would be restored to legitimacy if he received it.

I regretfully voted for Obummer twice, mostly out of anger over the Iraq war before I realized he’s just another Clintonian corporate shill. But even I know his Nobel Peace Prize was a DEI award.
