Maximum Overkill Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 He'll probably miss most of next season to. Quote
weepaws Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Sad news, Shane, would agree, don’t see him being available next season. Quote
LaChup Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 He should go ahead and have those cross eyes looked at while he's down. Quote

dogcows Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Philip Rivers coming in to save the Colts. I can’t find him on the waiver wire yet… Quote

I think he plays so loose because he see 16 wide receivers out there and knows if he throws it up there, he will hit one of them. 1 Quote

rotisserieking Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Grandpa Rivers. He's even more immobile than Jones with a broken leg. I see a lot of touches in JT's future. Quote
pronghorn Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Do they think Richardson really that bad Quote
BufordT Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Colts last 4 games are Seahawks, 49’rs, Jags & Texans. My Over/under for Colts total points rest of season is 40 Quote

I dunno his last year played he got 4169 yards passing in 16 games. 24 TD and 11 INT. all while completing 68% of his passes......I think that was decent enough. Quote

pronghorn Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 I don't have confidence in Rivers, I would check with Derek Carr tell him to throw some pads on. Quote

His yardage of 4169 were is worse since 2012, his 19 ff points per game , was 28th. He wasn’t that good, and reports kept talking about how beat up he looked, I mean more power to him if he can return, but after five years, and with a body that was ready to retire, seems like a team that has a shot for the playoffs might be able to do better imo. RareN64Dream Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 Most of this happened because the trade deadline ended, I am guessing. I bet Colts would have possibly traded for a backup QB; if they could have. Rivers might be healthier than Carr right now; after Carr had that pretty brutal nose dive injury. Rivers might need the money more too. Quote

I dont disagree, he did look a bit beat up. but his stats were good enough. your comment said he wasnt good when he last played. I showed the stats from his last season. they dont look all that bad. so I wasnt sure where that was coming from. if its just you saying he looked beat up. I guess Ill buy that. but statistically he was very solid. either way.... I kinda figured they were just hoping for someone who could hold the fort for a week or two util Richardson returned and who could mentor him a bit (as the kid appears to still need it) I dont know how close he is, but I hear hes doing some work with the team now. so I figure hes gotta be getting close. maybe a couple weeks away? anyhow, apparently Rivers is familiar with the offense. so he should be able to pick it up reasonably quickly. I think thats why he was signed. and given who is left in the QB room I think that may have been their best option if they just wanna 1 to 3 week starter. I'm not saying its a genius move but it does make some sense. Quote

Captain America Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 Although I hope he does well, Rivers is not the answer. Sucks, 'cause Jones was my QB. Now I have to decide on my starting QB for the playoffs this week out of Brissett, Daniels and Stroud. Quote
rotisserieking Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 What I find interesting is apparently Rivers was up for Hall of Fame consideration next year. If he plays, this will reset his HOF eligibility and set him back another 5 years. Guess he doesn't care. Quote
rotisserieking Posted December 10, 2025 Posted December 10, 2025 This will either be a 45-10 Seahawks win or neither team will score over 20 Quote

nobody Posted December 12, 2025 Posted December 12, 2025 Cam Newton butthurt they didn't call him. Must not have watched any of his own games the last 4 or so years he played. Quote

I'd rather go with Rivers than Newton and its not even close. for this game I'm predicting like 200- 220 yards and maybe a TD. personally I'd expect they would keep to the ground once inside the 5 yard line as Rivers may know the base offense but the red zone offense may be a different story.
