This song came up on my Spotify release radar. Saw the band last summer, fun local Mpls punk/ska band. Banger.

Spotify has the lyrics, which are prescient and funny as hell

You would think someone of his age would impart some wisdom on people and at least encourage them to not put themselves in dangerous situations instead of egging them on, especially considering that the two people that died were obviously having some sort of crisis in their life.  One lost custody of her children and the other was obviously spiraling.

It's pretty gross that you have to make up lies about dead people to push a political agenda.

That both Renee and Alex were in a life crisis, that Renee lost custody and Alex was spiriling.  Both lies with no basis in truth

It’s widely reported she had lost custody. If thats wrong then she abandoned them. And the other guy was shown prior to the incident where he died snarling, spitting and kicking. You think that’s the sign of a well adjusted person? They both had issues.

Bruces heyday was in the 80s.  Right now he is trying to be relevant again.

These types of things bring out washed up guys like Bruce and Don Lemon to try and get back in the spotlight someway.

The father was granted custody in 2017, no reports that she lost custody or abandoned them, you're speculating.

He died on his hands and knees being beaten and pepper sprayed, not snarling spitting or kicking, you're lying.

I said prior to the incident he died in. If her kids lived in Colorado and she was in Minneapolis via Canada that means she abandoned them. Unless you have some other word for it. Springsteen is supposed to be the wise one. He’s egging these suckers and losers on.

On the streets of Minneapolis there are checkpoints set up to see if the vehicle is ok to pass. The checkpoints are manned by civilians with vests and whistles and zero authority to do so. The left wing police commanders there are allowing it. Imagine your civil rights violated by some guy.

Had a little shindig tonight for the game. Played “The Boss” by Natasha Owens. It was a big hit. It’s rocketing up the charts! Catchy tune. Great message. Also played “The Somali Waltz”. Major yuks.

Many people are saying this video is being downloaded more than Springsteen by a 10-1 margin.

Many people don't have any actual figures to back that up statement. 😁

Have to admit it is much better than old man Springsteen's bitter rant.

Was going to say Bruce sounds old and tired..but he is old and tired.

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Announce ‘Land of Hope and Dreams’ U.S. Tour

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are bringing their politically charged Land of Hope and Dreams tour to North America in the spring for a run of arena and stadium dates. It kicks off March 31 in Minneapolis at the Target Center, and wraps up May 27 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. Ticket sales start on Friday.

“We are living through dark, disturbing and dangerous times, but do not despair — the cavalry is coming!” Springsteen says in a statement. “Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be taking the stage this spring from Minneapolis to California to Texas to Washington, D.C. for the Land of Hope And Dreams American Tour. We will be rocking your town in celebration and in defense of America — American democracy, American freedom, our American Constitution and our sacred American dream — all of which are under attack by our wannabe king and his rogue government in Washington, D.C. Everyone, regardless of where you stand or what you believe in, is welcome — so come on out and join the United Free Republic of E Street Nation for an American spring of Rock ‘n’ Rebellion! I’ll see you there!”

Last summer, Springsteen and the E Street Band played stadiums in Europe on the initial leg of the Land of Hope and Dreams Tour. “The mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock & roll, in dangerous times,” he told the crowd on opening night. “In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about, and has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years, is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration. Tonight, we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experience to rise with us, raise your voices against the authoritarianism, and let freedom ring. This is ‘Land of Hope and Dreams.’”

This took place before Donald Trump flooded Minneapolis with ICE officers, resulting in the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Springsteen responded to the tragedies with the protest song “Streets of Minneapolis,” which he performed Jan. 30 during a surprise appearance at Tom Morello’s A Concert of Solidarity & Resistance to Defend Minnesota! at the Minneapolis club First Avenue.

Earlier that month, Springsteen made a guest appearance at the annual Light of Days benefit concert. “Right now we are living through incredibly critical times,” he said that night. “The United States, the ideals and the value for which it stood for the past 250 years, is being tested like it has never been in modern times. Those values and those ideals have never been as endangered as they are right now.”

“If you believe in the power of law and that no one stands above it,” he continued, “if you stand against heavily-armed masked federal troops invading an American city, using gestapo tactics against our fellow citizens, if you believe you don’t deserve to be murdered for exercising your American right to protest, then send a message to this president, as the mayor of the city said: ICE should get the out of Minneapolis.”

If Springsteen sticks to roughly the same set as Europe last summer, expect plenty of politically-themed songs like “Rainmaker,” “Long Walk Home,” and Bob Dylan’s “Chimes of Freedom.” It’s also a near-certainty he’ll play “Streets of Minneapolis” as well.  The routing itself sends a message by beginning in Minneapolis and wrapping up near Trump’s backyard in D.C.

I don’t get it why did the thread title change???  You cry like a little baby whenever someone else does it but here you are doing the same damn thing

The prior title was about Bruce Springsteen's Streets of Minneapolis song.

The new title is about Springsteen's anti-Maga tour featuring that song. So the subject matter is related.

I didn't do what you are notorious for, which is to take an old thread and change the subject matter to something completely unrelated.

Let’s protest! If you pay me hundreds for a ticket!

It won't be cheap. as tickets are expected to start at approximately $339 and can average around $1,704. And even at those prices, most venues will probably sell out rather quickly, I would imagine.

Seeing Springsteen and E Street has been on my bucket list for a long time. But there are only a couple of acts I'm willing to shell out north of $500 to see, and while I like the Boss, I don't like him THAT much. IIRC last time he was in Mpls the show was at US Bank. Now it's at Target Center, which is well under half that capacity. Prices will be insane. And he probably won't even play the few songs I'd like to see most.
