DraftKings Sportsbook was among the first to post, opening Seattle Seahawks vs. New England Patriots at Seahawks -3.5. In no time flat, Seattle advanced to -4.5. The total opened at 46.5, and that number saw no early movement, remaining there late Sunday night. seafoam1 3,693 Posted January 26 I'm a fan of Darnold, hope Seattle wins. That guy has been as mentally tough as can be through the years. Would be a great story.
GobbleDog 1,042 Posted January 27 For decades most Superbowls were blowouts. Scores have been closer in recent years, but still some lopsided games here and there. My theory is the Superbowl is often a matchup between a truly dominate team -vs- a team that squeaked their way in. That's certainly the case this year with Seattle vs .... the Patriots who played one of the softest schedules in the league to reach the playoffs, then faced the Chargers who had no o-line, the Texans with no offense (or Nico Collins), and the Broncos without Nix in a blizzard. I foresee this game getting ugly fast.

Flipper 78 Posted January 28 The Seahawk's D is possibly better than any the Pats have faced all year. Playoff Maye has been lackluster - let alone having a shoulder injury. I think the Seahawks' laying up to 10 points will be a good play. ETA: And I was not a Darnold believer and on the Rams ...

I'll still give the points. I'm going with Seattle and the under. I'll say Seahawks 27 Pats 10. I don't really see a scenario where New England moves the ball with any regularity or consistency to put up many scoring drives. I think in order for this game to be competitive for the Patriots, they'll need a big turnover margin and at least 1 defensive score. This game may be a replay of the Tampa / KC Super Bowl. Someone posted a tweet somewhere (I don't have twitter, so I don't remember the specifics), but in every single game that New England played... up to the Super Bowl, was against a back up QB, a coach who got fired, a coordinator who got fired, or the Jets. I'm not saying that I think the Patriots stink or anything like that, I just think a lot of thinks really worked out for them up to this point in time and this game, will be the first game all year, where they're playing against a good team who's not facing any "internal termoil" (for a lack of a better phrase). I think they're a solid team going up against a great team, fully healthy, fully prepared, and completely secure in their environment, and Patriots are going to be out matched. Now, I do think they have a good defense and will at least prevent a boat race, but I think one of two things happen... the game will be something like (but not speficically), 20-3 with 3 minutes to go in the game and either a) the Seahawks score to drive the nail in the coffin or b) the Patriots get an 'oh by the way' TD to make the score look closer than what the game really was. I mean, you can pick a different score like 23-10 or 27-13. Point is, the game won't really be that close even the numbers may look that way.

I'm truly hoping my heart (which is with you) is the part of me that is right. either way, that is why they actually play the game. this is actually one of the more interesting superbowls in recent memory. I dont think I would have predicted either team would get this far at the start of the playoffs. so maybe I dont know as much as I thought i did lol. either way.... I'll be watching and If you are right I'll be the first to congratulate you on being right.

I did think that if it became a 2 score game that there was the potential for it to become a blowout. these defenses feast on offenses that get to a point where they need to take some chances. either way, well done TBay I tip my hat to you on the prediction.
