But he doesn't come close to championing those wholesome family values like Kid Rock does.

🤣

When was the last time they had a wholesome, family values-type performer at the super bowl?

Like all stable straight adult men over age 40, I typically don’t know who the halftime performer is and never care. 😂

Me either. Therefore, I typically don’t start threads about it complaining about halftime shows. But someone here did.

TURNING POINT: That Bad Bunny has lyrics that don't meet our guidelines for faith and family values. Let's start our own halftime show!

MAGAs:

TURNING POINT: Kid Rock is going to headline! WE ARE BRINGING FAMILY VALUES BACK IN AMERICA!

MAGAs: MUH FAMILAH VALUES!!! KID ROCK IS BRINGIN' DEM BACK! DERP! DERP! DERP!

I think Rusty was laughing at MAGAs who can’t leave politics out of the Super Bowl vs complaining about it.

Seems like he caught a few on the line, too. 🎣

HT also thinks killing someone is only “murder” if it’s premeditated.

He’s no rocket surgeon.

HT thinks that it doesn't count if Kid Rock used raunchy lyrics he did not write for his raunchy song on an album that sold millions.

The last time I remember caring about the Super Bowl halftime show (music entertainment), was Michael Jackson.  Don't remember the year, but I know I was a kid.  Don't really recall ever caring after that.  I use the halftime to eat and go to the bath room.

These arguments are ridiculous.  There's nothing wrong with having Bad Bunny as the halftime performer.  He's one of the most popular music artists in the world.

As the Wicked Witch of the West said, What a world, what a world, what a world.

The Super Bowl has long since been meant for me, the sport fan whose support let the league grow.  It, and its halftime show and its commercials are meant to attract new viewers to the sport, viewers it will never attact, but they can't help but dream.  I accept this and have for the last two decades.  Halftime is for taking a piss and a dump, stretching my legs, getting situated for the second half with food and intoxicants, and in the rare years when my team is playing and winning for getting a blow job from the wife.  Bad Bunny, the reincarnation of Elvis or Hendrix or Mozart, I don't really care though the latter two would be cool.  Together they would be the basis of one hell of a sound.

I'll be tuning in to Kid Rock and them during halftime, it sounds like it'll be way better.

Some would argue it isn't necessarily about wholesome values, as much as it is about not putting artists who openly hate the USA and oppose the enforcement of our country's laws.

Bad Bunny and Green Ghey hate our country and everything it stands for. Not going to be a good sell to real football fans.

Snoop Dogg and Nicki Minaj would have everyone who is anyone tuning in for sure.

We probably won't watch the Super Bowl or the Turning Point show. I mentioned to Zirra that the game was this weekend and we both had to google and see who is playing.

Clearly neither one of us give a shiiite this year about any of it. I *might* watch at least a small portion of the Turning Point thing just to see what the fuss is all about, but I doubt I will sit there and watch it all.

Is it just me or are more and more people complaining for the sake of complaining?  It's almost like it became a fad.  Why is everyone so grumpy all the time?  We are such a spoiled country.

It's the Internet in general and social media in particular.

24/7 news fans the flames of anger from all sides.....social media is just people constantly throwing gasoline on top of the fire.

People eat it up though.

Because they are too stupid to either a.) turn it off or b.) learn to separate fact from opinion.

Everything on social media is skewed in some form or another, but people buy it no matter what. Additionally, you can see on X how things are just bubbles. If one thing gets said by some influencer it becomes gospel and people begin just parroting it.

Everyone has always had an opinion.  Unfortuantley, now everyone has a platform.  And the social media companies are all about clicks/views, which division creates more of.

People form opinions and then they want that opinion to be reinforced over and over again.  They get stuck in their bubble.

About half of the social media posts, are made by bots.

I'm curious how many really are bots or people from other countries trying to cause chaos. Some accounts are very obvious but others are pretty convincing.

Turning Point should have gone with something different than a concert as counter programming.  They should have harkened back to the good old days with an Evil Knievel type stunt.  People dig that stuff.

A Red Bull halftime show would be pretty sweet.

If I were a gambling man, I'd bet on over 70% of social media posts are by bots, foreign agencies, PAC's, and media outlets.

I can honestly say I had never heard of Bad Bunny.

You are a fan of his music?

I'm generally up on current music and listen to a mix -- two years ago my top two Spotify artists were Tool and Olivia Rodrigo. :ninja: But I don't know any of his songs.  My daughter played me one that is his "biggest hit," yeah, I had nothing.  I didn't particularly enjoy it either.  But whatever, I know he is popular and I'm sure it will be on in our house, but I doubt I'll pay much attention.

This will not distract me from my Super Bowl tradition of hitting the ice chest & deli tray while others are distracted.

Years ago the wife and I were in Vegas for something on Saturday so we thought hey, let's stay over and watch the SB here!  We went to the watch party at Mandalay, and at halftime went to the buffet table to load up.  This was the Pats/Panthers game, good game.

Sometime after the game we heard about the Janet Jackson nipplegate.  Nobody at our table saw it, they were all loading up on food and drinks as well.

Since then, I try to keep an eye on the halftime show while refilling my food and drink, in case something interesting happens.

I don't watch the show or listen to teh commercials.  I can barely stand the game anymore as they try to cater to the non-fans they hope to make fans rather than to those of us who have made them and who support them during the year.

(I am not sure where the boding came from on that text),

game hasn’t been played yet

Isn't making an alternate halftime show the ultimate form of complaining.

Yeah.  It's incredibly soft and embarrassing.  It makes it even worse because they talk the most about how soft everyone else is.

I wonder if Kid Rock will sing his "Cool, Daddy Cool" song admitting to being a pedo.

Quote

“Young ladies, young ladies, I like ‘em underage,” Rock sings on the track. “See some say that’s statutory.”

WHOLESOME FAMILY ENTAHTAINMERNT!

Monkeys in cowboy outfits riding sheep dogs, demolition derby, rodeo clowns getting stomped, Pig races,  Competitive eating contests.

We could make one heckuva show without even approaching PG-13 + stuff.
