In November 1862, Attorney General Edward Bates officially recognized the citizenship of free Black people, and the Union began enlisting Black soldiers following the Militia Act of 1862. Typical lib. You mentioned Dred Scott hours ago. He’s doing the internet message board version of “listening to reply, not listening to understand” Quote

About 1.6 million white families got land from this act and only a few thousand black families did. Here’s a very brief overview if you just want to scratch the surface on this. https://aeon.co/ideas/land-and-the-roots-of-african-american-poverty What percentage of American families were black at that time? So, tell me, do you think the land rights distribution was equitable based on the racial demographics at the time? If not, why so? Here are the numbers. Over 4 million slaves were freed. And in the end only 6000 of them were able to get successful homestead act claims. Compared to 33 million white people in the U.S. at that time who got 1.6 million successful claims. 13% of the population and less than 1% of the successful claims. I think the below is a paper worth reading for the why. If I had to put it in a few words: racism at the time and the failure of Reconstruction. https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/aepp.13401 Quote

How can that be? ETA: Also, how many of those 4M freed slaves applied for land grants compared to the 33M whites? Quote

Maybe if they weren’t slaughtering each other and there wasn’t abortion clinics all over the place their numbers would have grown. They should have. Nice job keeping those numbers down liberals. Yeah, I didn't know who Elliish is nor that I should give a fock, or I'd have been here sooner. I do support turning over California to the control of indigenous tribes, cancelling the US citizenship of the people who live there, and expanding a border wall is worth pursuing. First, I'd allow for the non-retarded counties of western and northern California to decide if they want to secede from the state first or not. Quote
