This raises the prospect of the deepest kind of irony: tobacco grown to produce drugs used to treat cancers caused by tobacco. Mark Hulett, Marc Kvansakul and others from the Biochemistry Department used a range of techniques to examine the structure and function of a protein called NaD1. This protein is a type of defensin, a molecule that protects the plant from fungal infections. Why it also works on mammalian cancer cells is unknown, but is probably related to similarities of their cell membranes, where the action in this story takes place. Quote

BeenHereBefore Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 I think the Tobacco companies put all kinds of other chemicals in cigs for years and snuff and etc. that causes cancer. The Tobacco alone very well could be the cure. I seen another article that people knew back in the 1500's that Tobacco cured cancer. Quote

As I post above think it maybe the other chemicals they put in cigs and etc. since the 50's or a bit later that causes cancer and not the tobacco. I'm not talking nicotine and that can be healthy in low dosage but what addicts ya. I'm talking the fiber glass and all other crap chems in them causes cancer. Quote
