"Baseball has given me more than I could have imagined," Verlander said in his statement. "It taught me discipline, resilience, and the value of continuing to adapt and evolve. I've been fortunate to play with and against incredible players, for outstanding organizations, and compete in-front of fans who deeply appreciate the game." Verlander began his career with the Tigers in 2005 and pitched for them until he was traded to Houston at the trade deadline in 2017. He helped the Astros win the World Series in his first season with the franchise and again in 2022. Gepetto Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Royals vs Padres Royals up 3 -2 bottom of the ninth Royals pitching with 2 outs, give up a home run to tie the game. Then in the 10th Padres take the lead 4 - 3. I quit watching. Then I see Padres made it 6 -3. Padres took Mason Miller out after he pitched the 9th. He had a nasty K in the bottom of the 9th that the hitter swung even though the ball dove into the dirt before home plate. Fast forward this video to see the ending. Quote
