squistion Posted February 10 Posted February 10 This is also good news for Democrats as they have a pretty good shot at picking up this seat (but I thought the same in 2020). Quote

Voltaire Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Collins is about as good as you can reasonably expect out of Maine. Quote
weepaws Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Let’s not expect more from Maine, let’s get more, let’s not keep making the same mistakes and vote for the lesser of two evils, let’s vote for righteousness and no evil. Quote

weepaws Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Again the lesser of two evils, that’s not an option, the right way is no evil. Vote righteousness. Quote

Caine Mutiny Posted May 6 Posted May 6 He got the tattoo as a young man because he thought it made him look tough, claims he didn’t realize the Nazi connection until much later. It’s not a swastika: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/maine-democrat-platner-on-defense-over-tattoo-takes-page-from-trump-playbook-to-keep-up-senate-bid There is nothing about this guy, other than the tattoo, that suggests he is a Nazi. No record that I know of in which he has said Nazi like things (unlike our President who said immigrants are “poisoning the blood of this country.”) Platner HAS spouted out some very leftist things on the other hand. He’s in the AOC/Mamdami camp. Normally too left for me. But not at the moment. All hands on deck! 1 Quote

I heard this ‘youthful indiscretion’ shtick from David Duke (yes I know, Duke was a committed kluxxer & neonazi, & Platner doesn’t have all that). Thing is it was a totenkopf, a big one, & it sounds like he knew what it meant *after (assuming we buy his story) he ‘accidentally’ got it. Then he kept it for 18 years. Dems have this issue with third-way types like Gabbard who wander into camp & then take on some disturbing positions. Having said that I haven’t heard the guy talk & don’t know a thing about what he stands for. Quote
Mark Davis Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Where did all the guys go who were saying Elon Musk's wave was a Nazi salute? Well, in line to vote for Platner of course. There's always been a bizarre intersection of where the fringes meet and this guy is right there. Musk may have waved at an angle some didn't like, to them it's evidence he intentionally did it. A guy goes and gets a tattoo to have the rest of the life and it's, well maybe he didn't mean it. 1 Quote

Taking him at his word we have someone who is ignorant and desperatly trying to be cool for acceptance. That seems to be the best case scenario. He thought it cool and would make him tough. So sad. Or the guy is a liar, knew what it was, and now wants to weasel away. As for me I dont have to choose what I believe as he resides more than 1500 miles from me. 1 Quote

Susan Collins has supported almost all of Trump’s disastrous appointees, and almost all of Trump’s disastrous decisions. She has to be defeated. All Republicans at this point should be defeated, until the entire MAGA movement has been eradicated. That’s it. Quote

When you said yesterday Western Civilization is a synonym for white supremacy, it made me know they couldn't name a candidate you wouldn't vote for. I just find it interesting you are supportive of a Nazi. I'm not being personal with this as I honestly feel you don't see it. But to me this so much reminds me of a friend of mine who has a spot in her heart for rescue dogs. Specifically pit bulls. The ones that nobody will adopt, and she has a heart of gold. She's been mauled at least 3 times, hospitalized twice, had multiple surgeries on her forearm where so much tissue was taken off her body, yet she still loves them. She makes excuses about what set them off, what in the environment she could have done better to not have the behavior issues. I love dogs, have an 85 lb rescue beside me now, but I know better than to have a dog like that. The point being, when you get into bed with Nazis and Hamas supporters, don't be surprised one day when the pack turns on you. It's not if, it's just when. Quote
