I'm flying out to DC on the 3rd and back on the 4th so there will be some times those couple days where I won't be available.  Might be hit and miss throughout the day just with meetings scheduled those two days as well.

My team might set records and not in a good way.  I don’t have any exclusives with 70 or more RBI.  Only 2 with over 60.  Only 1 exclusive with over 15 starts with a winning record (8-4). Ugly season ahead.

can I buy extra supplemental picks?

I'll trade you all my .04 and .09 picks from the the 9th round on if you'd like.

I still don't know how I made the finals last year. The Rays were awful, some of my supplemental picks were flat out busts... looking at you, Cruz! and I had my share of injuries.   I would guess that things wind up looking better on paper this year but the result is worse

anyway,  all the draft threads have been edited to include the proper teams/pick numbers.   We should be all set for Monday

any reason not to open the round 1 thread this weekend and let people make their picks at their convenience until we officially start on Monday?

I didn’t want people jumping the gun since there is no rush but I suppose no reason

yeah, a couple days shouldn't change much for anybody.  Plus you still have time to watch the baseball classic as it matters to the supplemental draft picks.  I'd guess we're all pretty much in the we know what options we got to pick from mode.

I'll admit I tried drafting Jacsquatch when you weren't looking, but it didn't take.

@cmh6476 - I figured this would happen next: 3.06 Aroldis Chapman, RP, BOS

I was torn between going for 2 SPs in rounds 1 & 2 or 1 of the 2 SPs that I grabbed and Chapman. I don't have much for access to saves so he was certainly a target there.

My available talent pool outside of exclusives begins to fall off a cliff once the top 3 or 4 guys start to go.  My roster makeup leaves me most vulnerable in the OF and pitching, and is likely where I will have to focus my supplemental picks.  So getting guys like Rooker and Chapman early at least gives me somewhat viable options, as I really don't have any superstars that I'm competing with anyone else for.

I am surprised you didnt take the dominance of Chapman over Pivetta, you have a ton of solid SP options.  Of course I wanted Pivetta so

Scared me for a minute there!  I read that as William, his brother, who I have as an exclusive.  I thought I'd missed some breaking news about a trade.

always nice when your top two picks were not wanted by any other teams in rounds 1 and 2, but you clearly can't wait for round 3... i know, it's the chess game but I can't remember the last time the bones were actually kind to me    ....  good luck in St. Louis, Randy!

Trust me…if I could have added William I would have. 😂

Oh trust me, that thought was there as he was absolutely dominant last year. My biggest issue was I would be chasing the saves category as I have the opposite issue that you do and I have no exclusive closers right now. So, I'd have to draft multiples now or in the sup. I can punt that one category and just try to get better SP depth for the inevitable injuries down the road. A starting pitching group of Crochet, Gray, Bello, Pivetta, Suarez, Priester...is looking pretty solid but time will tell.

Apologies @dcb291 !  I didn't expect to have a chance at both until I saw the dice rolls.

Of course I knew I was giving up DeGrom. I did not expect you to pick Nimmo. Pretty bad draft slot for me being after the Padres but before the Rangers.

Looks like I will wind up with 2 of my top 7 players

Should have let Flaherty walk….🤬

Was hoping I could get 1 of Gray or Flaherty.  Was torn between Gray and Arozarena in round 1 but my OF is putrid and I chose the player who could help daily instead of every 5 days.

once I lost Gray and Flaherty, I decided to add  a closer who is just a couple of years  removed from leading the NL in saves.  A good bounce back by Helsley will help me greatly.

I pretty well knew Bichette and Gausman would go and thus it kinda put me into a grab mode for that next tier SP to get someone not on the Jays.

I know you dont know but the worst pick of the draft was easily Cease, of course you don't know I wouldn't even think about him at 2.11 but as a true Padre fan, I would never touch that choke artist

I've always liked him. It was him or Gausman. If I'd have known you didn't like him so much then maybe yeah I could have gotten both, but oh well.

my thought for you was easily Bichette with the multi position elig in that lineup but you got tons of bats exclusive so maybe not needed, I tried to play out the draft and had it diff, but thats what makes it fun

I had sort of penciled in an Alonso/Bichette/Nimmo start. With plenty of power and a decent OF option, I would not have missed Soto at all, to be honest. Once Nimmo was plucked, I briefly considered Helsley but was not 100% sure the Blue Jays wouldn't pick BOTH Bichette and Semien. I forgot about Robbie Ray and it sounds like Semien was never a thought, so perhaps I should have gone Helsley/Semien but I also don't like paying up for more saves.
