I still think Jasmine edges him out but it will be close. Conventional wisdom is: 1. Cornyn beats Crockett easily. 2. Cornyn edges out Talarico. 3. Talarico beats Paxton. 4. Everybody thought Trump was too extreme in 2016 and he won the primaries and the general election. Many Democrats are sick of milquetoast. They want somebody who fights. But I predict most white liberals in Texas won’t vote for her in the primary because of “electability.” Then they will watch Talarico lose in the general election. Ive seen it happen over and over. The Dems willing to kick a$$ and take names cause white libs to clutch their pearls and then they look for the most boring inoffensive candidate possible. She would lose votes slowly throughout the race would be my guess. I know nothing about this Paxton guy and Tim makes a good point that many MAGA picks have flamed out bigly in the past.
