Josh Hokit vs Derrick Lewis added.  Hokit recently defeated Curtis Blaydes in a fight the UFC YouTube channel called “the greatest heavyweight fight ever”

Hokit played football and wrestled at Fresno State, then was on a few NFL practice squads.  Hasn’t been fighting very long, I guess UFC heavyweights aren’t very good if he already dominated the #5 guy.

I support Hokit because I support all former NCAA wrestlers in the UFC, and I know this was probably part schtick but lol at him saying he left the NFL because he got tired of them pushing LGBT stuff, the vaccine and guys kneeling for the flag and not because he wasn’t good enough.  Don’t get me wrong him making NFL practice squads, being a D1 wrestling all-American and now what he’s doing in the UFC puts him at about a top 0.1% of overall athletes in the world, but he can be honest about not being good enough at football.

But per usual, your reading comprehension sucks. Clearly Hokit is good enough to beat a top 5 guy, he just did.

But generally, if you’ve only been doing something for 2.5 years, you probably shouldn’t be able to be top 5 in the world at it.  That is evidence that the competition isn’t great.   But of course his performance is yet another example that wrestling is the best background for MMA.     Although I have a feeling Gable Steveson (another former wrestler that hasn’t been fighting very long) smashes Hokit.  Looks like Joe Rogan agrees about Steveson and has also complained about heavyweight being shallow.

You guys are going to have to show your work on how Trump is making a boatload of money off this UFC thing.  The UFC's most recent media deal moves them away from PPV.  They have a contract with Paramount+ and all of their events are free with a subscription now.   I get it.   OMB.  But if you really want us to be outraged you're going to need to show your work.

Well it definitely is one now with the allegations of more corrupt stock trading.  And yes, buying stock after announcing it could still be corruption as it’s still trying to profit off of an event being held at the White House.

But before I was mostly joking, but if in your dream world of litigating what is and isn’t political there would certainly be an argument that even the OP of the thread is political, since

1) it’s being held at the White House

2) multiple of the fighters on the card, and the UFC CEO, are vocal Trump supporters

Yup.  The lefties have been telling us for 10 years Trump is a grifter and the only reason he wanted to be President was to get rich, as if he wasn't already rich, but they've NEVER shown any proof of his benefiting financially from being President.  There are countless examples of his family LOSING money from it though.  Oh wait.  He charges the secret service market rates at his hotels, so I guess there's that for the lefties to cling to.

@dogcows post was about the stock purchase, not about profiting from the event directly.  Having a partnership with the federal government is probably a good thing for the stock price…

Pretty sure complaining about Trump profiting off of this event wasn’t a common thing.  The main complaint from libs I’ve seen is comparing the event to a Roman gladiator show while Americans are fighting ~50% higher gas prices because of a war we started.
