The risk is winning too many games and missing out on the 2027 QB draft class that is going to be one of the best ever.

Willis filled in admirably as a Packeer backup.  I would argue the best backup in the league the last two years though maybe 49er fans would argue otherwise.  I hate to lose him.  Whether his backup skills will stand him in good stead as a starter remains to be seen, but I think he has got it figured out now.

Plus, if a franchise can get good results from a QB that doesn’t demand top-dollar, they can spend more on the salary for the rest of the team.

Of course. Tua is good for at least 6 wins and the Falcons are in a crap division. They'll probably win 8 games by accident and get a mid-late first round pick and be stuck with Tua/Penix long term.

I don’t see ATL a whole lot, but my impression is they’ve been held back by coaching and not in the mix for a top pick. Tua is also cooked and pretty bad.
