cyclone24 Posted April 1 Posted April 1 This is one of those things where I find it very fascinating and I know absolutely zero about how they do any of it, but it’s so impressive. We viewed all this stuff down at Houston once summer and you’re just amazed how they ever got that thing to the moon with 60s technology. I told my wife that imagine trying to explain the technology they had to people in the 60s back then…… it makes you think what technology we have now that we would be baffled by if we knew today 1 1 Quote
dogcows Posted April 1 Posted April 1 They're just circling around and coming back, not actually landing on the moon. Still, it's an exciting mission! They will be 3,000 miles above the surface of the moon and will see more of it than previous astronauts did. Quote

Hawkeye21 Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I think this is pretty cool. The amount of people on social media calling it all fake is alarming though. I can't believe there are that many people who think NASA is fake and that we've never been to space. Hell, they don't even think space is real. They think the earth is flat and we live under a firmament. I would rather have a conversation with a trans person than these psychos. 2 Quote

Probably a trans person, to be honest. Conspiracy theorists are far too gone. I think a trans person can be somewhat normal or change how they fell about themselves. Quote

Maximum Overkill Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Call it what you want. If we were able to land on the moon in 1969, then why the hell can't we do it in 2026. It's bullshitt, we never went to the moon. I can't even get cell service 50' from my house, how the hell did they relay pics back and stream it on TV in 69? I'm calling shenanigans on the deal. Calm down Libtards, I'm just kidding, I do think it's an interesting discussion though. 1 Quote

Every conspiracy theory I've seen has also been debunked. The one's who are 100% positive it didn't happen are coocoo for cocoa puffs. Quote

Maximum Overkill Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I'm watching it on the NASA Channel. The countdown is back on, 6 minutes Quote
Maximum Overkill Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I think we see the very faint vapor trail, not totally sure. We are on the very end of the viewable range. Quote
Maximum Overkill Posted April 1 Posted April 1 That's not even close??? The Artemis II mission (as of April 2026) will fly around the Moon at a closest approach of approximately 4,000 to 5,000 miles (6,400 to 8,000 kilometers) from the lunar surface. Quote
Hawkeye21 Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I watched it live and it was pretty cool. I find it impressive how precise everything is. The countdowns and every action is planned down to the second. So many actions taking place at the same time and so many things that could go wrong. Quote

cyclone24 Posted April 9 Author Posted April 9 I’m not advocating for this by any means but someone is going to be the first person to be murdered in space. So I mean, we are talking a little history here. That’s all I’m saying. It’s probably like international Waters where its not prosecutable…. So since it’s lawless, they are free to go. Don’t fact check any of that Quote
dogcows Posted April 11 Posted April 11 When they launched Artemis II, their projected landing time was 7:07pm. They landed at the exact minute they projected, on a trip of over 600,000 miles. Our NASA scientists and engineers are brilliant. Quote

Yes, and it's crazy that we have satellite cable and people we aren't capable of going to the moon. Flat earthers are out in force as well. Quote

I haven't heard that one before. Do they think that all the footage of rockets blasting into space are fakes or that the launches are holograms? What's the point of believing that kind of ridiculousness? Quote

dogcows Posted April 29 Posted April 29 8 hours ago, Maximum Overkill said: What has NASA done besides circle the moon? Space X can do it better using private funding. SpaceX is funded by American taxpayers. They build rockets for NASA (but not Artemis because they didn’t want to blow up on the platform). Plus they have a scheme setup where they aren’t paying federal taxes It’s to be expected that somebody who lives on Xitter would believe Musk’s propaganda. Prediction: You will call me a liar, never even bother looking into this, and go on believing the hype. Quote
