What is your absolute favorite set of cards. For any reason.

Any year, sport, brand. You can even give an honorable mention for a second one. Just one could be a tough call.

Pinnacle baseball cards, 1995-2000, lots of inserts in the packs

I bought an O-Pee-Chee 1979 hockey set for $75 in 1989/90 ish. It was a mistake by the card shop owners brother. Owner was pissed off and tried to buy it back from me even offering me double money back - I said no. He banned me from the store. His brother was an ex-con always trying to scam me into buying stuff so ##### them guys. I still have the set (Gretzky rookie card) although I think I missed out on the actual value of said card.

1986 Fleer Basketball, for obvious reasons.

1992 Bowman Baseball was a fun set

1989 Upper Deck was a big change (helped having Griffey Jr's rookie card in the set).

As a kid in ’76 through ’79, I used to love scraping together a few quarters so I could run down to the neighborhood store and get a few packs of cards (baseball or football depending on the season) hoping for action shots and no duplicates.  I couldn’t even tell you the brand – probably Topps.  It’s a shame that card collecting became a business/investment pretty much ruining the simple joy kids could have with card collecting/trading.

All time favorite is 1996 Finest Basketball, especially the Kobe Gold Heirs, and I just purchased the Iverson Gold Heirs Refractor!!

I liked 1996 Finest Football and 1997 Finest Football because it was harder to pull refractors but still possible and there were some good ones. I pulled a 1997 Finest Silver Embossed Refractor Drew Bledsoe and traded it at a show for 1992 Bowman Mike Piazza, 1994 SP Authentic Alex Rodriguez, and another good RC, can't remember now.

Other than that though I like the 1993 - 1995 SP Football cards the most probably.

My favorites now have been Panini Contenders parallels of RCs like Playoff Ticket and Championship Ticket and Midfield and Conference Ticket Autos in Football, and Premium Edition RC Autos in Basketball, Optic Holo Autos, Optic color matched parallels, Prizm silver and color matched Parallels in Basketball, and Topps Chrome Autos, Bowman Chrome Prospect Autos in baseball.

I think I still have two or three sets of the 85 tops set

Have all my dad’s old baseball cards. No idea what I’ll do with them. My kids will probably sell them for focking pizzas or something when I die.

I never know what to do with that stuff. Like my dad‘s old coin collection stuff like that it’s like I could sell it I suppose but and do what? Feels cheap just to sell them off and go buy yourself something.

84 Donruss with Donnie Baseball rookie. Close second by the 84 Topps Traded with Doc Gooden rookie.  Up to 87 was my peak, and really lost interest with all hologram bullshat came out.  Never liked that Sportsflics trash either.  The only motion collectibles I targeted was the round ones in the Slurpee cup bottoms.

1987 Donruss Opening Day - special set of cards just for those who played on opening day that year, in nice collectible packaging.

And of course 1989 Upper Deck.

The 1987 Topps wood-grain design cards were pretty cool.
